Has anyone added any steps to their trailer?
Looking for ideas, I had to launch/load by myself several times last week and I forgot how much fun that can be.
I think some steps on the trailer would make it safer/easier to do.
Had more problems launching, my boat has to be pretty far back in order to float off the trailer.
If the ramp wasn't so busy I would use a rope and float it off and pull it to an empty lane.
That looks pretty darn spiffy. Do you have any idea of the price?
As a cheaper alternative for most boats and ramps I was going to suggest this Shop Werner 3-Step Aluminum Platform Utility Ladder at Lowes.com Of course steep ramps would be a problem and for all situations one would want to replace the plastic post caps with the real nice soft rubber cane tips.
No I have no idea on the price, but it sure does look nice. I have been thinking of getting one for my dad. (who am I kidding, I want one too because I'm lazy!!!)
Edit: I looked over on bassboatcentral.com and apparently they run about $350 for the 3 step one.
This will sound crazy simple, but it worked for me.
I mounted my spare tire on the tongue of the trailer standing up vertical, and positioned it right close to the winch tree. As a result, I can walk across the tongue, and then step up on the top of the spare to get the height I need to climb up on the box. Picture shows it.
Ezeestep.com
Put a set on my boat in 2003 and they are the single best investment I ever made for my boat. No rust No problems at all. They went on 10 years ago and have never been taken off.
Just ordered my steps from Ezeestep yesterday. I had a grab rail added to mine for balance as you use them
When I get them installed I will send pictures of my 97 205 Hydra-Sports boat & trailer.
I make trailer steps, contact me if interested, 5025501326
