Update on Mike

In reference to my post a couple of days ago titled "Friend, Can You Spare a Prayer" I wanted to share what we know at this time. Mike did not have a heart attack as we thought. He has a mass growing on the outside of his heart that cardiologists confirmed yesterday. They had done a heart cath and found his heart to be in great condition. Green dye was placed in his artery and it didn't go through the normal routing but took a right and went through a smaller artery. That's when the mass was found. We don't know anything, at this time, about the spots on his lungs and thyroid gland. A group of lung specialists are supposed to have a look at all those areas today.

Doctors are giving him medication to quiet him down so he can get some rest. He was crying last night and told me, "Mom, I know you want to be here with me but I am getting good care. I need for you to stay home, in your quiet place, so you can pray for me without being disturbed. Please Mom, do this for me because I need all the prayers I can get.". Today I am staying home and praying for my precious son. I told him that my friends on Fishin.com were praying for him and he said to tell each of you that he thanked you and please, don't forget about him.

This is the hardest thing I have ever had to go through but I believe that we are going to get the miracles we asked for.

I've been in your spot, bug - but with the roles reversed with my Mom the sick one. She told me to go home a few times myself. It's hard, ain't it? But it's easier when you realize that even in the shape he's in, God's spirit has him thinking of others. He's in good hands.
