Bank or creek fishing in Northern Kentucky

Looking for a body of water big or small to do some bank fishing. prefer not the Ohio River. Looking to cast for bass or throw out a few lines for cats. Live in Northern Kentucky and don't want to travel far. Any suggestion would be great.

I've caught bass from Leary Lake and Lake Polliwog. Both are in Grant County. Polliwog has decent catfishing too, if you find them.

Check out Camp Ernst Lake. Its a FINS lake so its WELL stocked with cats and plenty of rainbow trout in the cold months.

Try Gunpowder Creek, Google Earth it to find access areas and wade fish. Also Banklick Creek down by Pioneer Park on Hwy 17. Try Doe Run Lake off of Hwy 17 near Pioneer Park. Google Earth this to find how to get there.

Went to Camp Ernest with son and grandsonabout a month ago. We caught about 30 catfish. We took home our limit 16 and cleaned them up. Very clean white fish. Camp Ernest is only assessable from one side so if you have a boat it sure makes it easier to fish,we do. The FINS system is a very good idea. It gives fisherman the opportunity to catch fish year round at local lakes. It is very important that everyone adheres to the limits set by the state. I know it is very hard to throw back fish when they are biting real good but they will be there tommorrow and you won't be taking the chance of a hefty fine. You can buy alot of fish for the amount you will be paying for a ticket.

There are a number of lake included in the FINS system in northern Kentucky. Look them up on the internet and you can find out when they will be stocking. These lakes are a great place to take your children. Good luck
