LAKE ALLATOONA IS 3.8 FEET OVER FULL, CLEAR & 68 DEGREES

This bass fishing report is from Matt Driver 404 456 6094
www.proanglerradio.com

Bass fishing is good. Most bass are post spawn and chasing shad early.
The best bite is to be there early in the morning and catch the shad
spawn. Lures like Scrounger this Spro Dog and soft jerk baits working
well. Fishing areas with rock and rip rap for best results. The shad
spawn will die shortly after 9 AM. After, that the jig head finesse
worm and drop shot is the way to go. The night bite is slow right now
but will pick up as it gets warmer.

Lines side fishing is good. The lake is still out of its banks, but is
going down, if we don't have anymore rain this week. We think the
loading docks will be usable by the end of next week. The Debris is
almost gone. The strong winds we had earlier this week blew most of it
to the banks. There is still some of the main lake from the dam to
Little River. So be careful if you are heading to the lake this week
end. The bite up the river has return and there are some very good
numbers of hybrids being caught up the Etowah River. These fish are
feeding best on live shad fished on the bottom. The main lake bite is
also very good. My clients have caught very good numbers aboard our
boats this week fishing main lake creek mouths as far north as Little
River and as far south as Clark's Creek. Our best bite has been on
Thread Fin Shad fished on down lines and free lines. Main lake points
and humps are also holding some decent schools of hybrids. Trolling
has been very good for me this week. We are pulling Mack Farr umbrella
rigs 50 to 70 feet behind the boat and have had as many as 5 fish at a
time. The trolling bite is really starting to heat up and will only
get better as we enter summer. The over all bite is really good. We
still have plenty of openings aboard our boats. Give us a call at 770
827-6282 and let's go fishing. Call Ken about the Southern Fishing

LAKE ALLATOONA IS 5.6 FEET OVER FULL, CLEAR & 68 DEGREES

This bass fishing report is from Matt Driver 404 456 6094
www.proanglerradio.com

High water alert: The lake has been high for the past week. The
fishing started off good as the water began to come up, and slowed
water stabilized. After today (Friday the 10th) the water should lower
unless we get more rain. The current cause by the water release should
set up a good bite for the spots. Baits like a Kacy’s Kustom jig and a
jig head finesse worm is working good. Points where current is present
around rock is key. There is also a good bite on soft jerk baits like
the big bite jerk minnow. Use the weighted Gamakatsu EWG hook. The
bite is best with the bait about three to four feet under the surface.
Cranks and spinnerbaits are also working. With the water up, the lake
fishes bigger. Use baits that cover water, and when you find a
concentration of fish slow down with jigs. Be careful for debris!

Lines side fishing is good. The lake is about 8 feet above full pool
and there is debris floating everywhere. So if you are heading out
this weekend be careful. But to my surprise the water has very good
color from Kellogg's all the way to the spillway at Lake Acworth. The
bite this week is also surprising. The over all bite is really good.
Dodging all the debris can be challenging but rewarding if you are
willing to put in the time. The rivers are blown out and probably will
be until sometime next week. The best bite going is probably the bank
bite at the spillway. Bank anglers are having a field day. We talked
to the DNR on 5/7 and they said they have been seeing some really good
catches coming from the banks at the spillway. We rode over there on
May 8 and watch about a dozen hybrids being caught on both live bait
and artificial. There is also a decent bite in the mouth of all the
major creeks. Main lake points and humps are also holding some decent
schools of Hybrids. The bite is a mixture of down lines, planner
boards and free lines. With most of the fish coming off the down lines
after 8am. Trolling has been decent but should get really good once
the water temperature hits 70 degrees. Over all the lake is flowing
out of its banks and there is floating debris everywhere. But spring
is and awesome time to be on the water and the lake will drop back
down to normal levels as soon as the rain lets up. Call Ken about the

LAKE ALLATOONA IS 2.2 FEET OVER FULL, CLEAR & 68 DEGREES

This bass fishing report is from Matt Driver 404 456 6094
www.proanglerradio.com

Bass fishing is great. The spawn ran a little longer this year due to
cooler weather patterns in April. Fish will be finishing the spawn in
the first couple of weeks of May. Female bass will be recuperating and
a few days after the spawn they will begin to feed. May is the best
top water month by far on Lake Allatoona. It’s time to break out the
walking baits and cover water. Long points near deeper water pole
markers and paralleling bluff walls work the best. Use a 6 foot 6 inch
St. Croix medium rod and a Lews Speed Spool reel with Sunline FX braid
and fish with a Spro Dawg or Zara Super Spook top water plug. The
braided line is very important. It allows you to make long casts and
it has no stretch so you will make good contact when you set the hook
on a long cast. It also takes less effort to work the bait. The bite
usually slows after 9 a.m. or so but if it’s cloudy the bite may last
all day. The swim bait bite is also good this month. Mix up your
retrieves fast and slow to find out what’s best. Also throw a 5 inch
Big Bite Jerk Shad and Trick Stick weightless in the same areas. Fish
the Jerk Shad fast and right on top on 10 pound Sunline Sniper
fluorocarbon line and a 7:1 bait caster. The shallow brush bite will
get better as the month goes on. Find brush in the 7 to 10 foot range.
Work through the brush with a Kacy's Custom jig in brown and orange.
Throw past the brush and bring it in until you feel the brush and
slowly work it through. There will be no mistake when you get bit. The
fish will thump it hard.

Lines side fishing is good. The rain we had this pasted weekend blew
the rivers out. They are running fast and there is plenty of debris
floating down both the Etowah and Little River. The main lake is still
clear but there is also a lot of debris floating on the main lake as
well as the rivers. If you’re heading out in the next few days be very
careful. Finding water that is debris free holding bait and fish is
the key to catching fish. The fish on the main lake are up in the
water column and are very hard to mark on 2 D sonar. If you have a
Lowrance 12 Touch with side scan, you can locate these fish by running
your side scan setting on 60 feet on both sides. If you don't have
side scan, the best way to find these fish is to put out a spread of
planner boards and free lines and pull the banks and open water until
you get bit. Planner boards and freeing live shad on the main lake has
been our best bite and are a counting for at lease 95% of our catch on
both Lake Allatoona and Carters Lake. Small to middle size gizzard
shad have been the ticket. If throwing the net isn't your cup of tea
Striper Soup Bait and Tackle in ACTH has plenty on hand. The river
bite is a different story. Cut bait seems to be fishing best right
now. But cut shad and chicken liver fished in any bend of the river or
near any blow down will catch you fish. There has also been a Lot of
big cats caught up the river the last few weeks. The lake record for
Blue cats was broken this week with a nice 36 pound fish.
Trolling has been decent but should get really good once the water
temperature hits 70 degrees. Call Ken about the Southern Fishing
Schools exclusive ON THE WATER SCHOOLS for SONAR or Rods Reels and
Lures for Bass. Call for details. Call for details.

This bass fishing report is from Matt Driver 404 456 6094

Bass fishing is still in the good range and the spawn has been under
way for some time now. Schooling spots are showing up around the lake
but are up and gone before you know it. Be ready when they are visible
and make the best of the few cast you'll get before the leave the
surface. The Spro dawg and the double 5inch jerk minnow rig are
working great to target these fish. Look for bass to corral the bait
into points or wind blown main lake pockets. When the fish leave the
surface the Spro Mcstick worked in the area is picking up a few fish.
Follow the shaded areas to make the top water bite last. The shad
spawn will start soon and the swim bait bite will be picking up. For
now the Kacy’s Kustom bluegill fire and the big bite green pumpkin
Squirrel Tail worm fished on 10 pound line will work.

Lines sides fishing is good and the fishing are biting from one end of
the lake to the other. The Hybrids have started their spawn runs up
both the Etowah and Little River. Most of the fish that are being
caught are already spawn out. The river bite should stay decent into
the middle of May. The main lake is also fishing well. The fish that
are returning out of the rivers are starting to school up from the
Little River Bridge up to the delta and from the S Turns to Kellogg’s
Creek. There is also a decent south end bite going from Iron Hill to
the bay out in from of 3rd Army. The fish on the main lake are up in
the water column and are very hard to mark on 2 D sonar. If you have a
Lowrance with side scan you can locate these fish by running your side
scan setting on 60 feet on both sides. This has been working great for
me on my Lowrance 12 in Touch. If you don't have side scan, the best

Bass fishing is great. There is no one area that is best right now,
even thought we suggest the iron hill area to the mouth of stamps
creek. No matter if you want top water or drag a worm the lake is on
fire. A good number of bass are on bed and will be for the next few
weeks. Keen an eye out for schooling fish. These fish only come up for
a few seconds. Have a rod with top water with a Spro dawg or soft jerk
bait like a big bite jerk minnow. Fish these baits on you best casting
reel. The spinner bait and the scrounged bite is also very good. There
are tons of buck bass that are running the shore line and are easy
targets with Rooster Tail and even night crawlers.

Line side fishing is good. The water temperature is heating up fast
and the bite is very good. The river bite is finally started. The
white bass have moved up and are being caught on white Rooster Tails
and crappie jig. We are just days away before the hybrids and stripers
to move up as well. We are spending most of our days in the creeks.
There are decent schools of fish in all the major creeks and Kellogg
Creek, Stamp Creek, Clark Creek, Tanyard Creek and Iron Hill have all
produced. There is also another bite going on from Little River all
the way up to Fields Landing. If you find the bait you'll find
stripers and hybrids nearby. These fish are feeding up for the up
coming spawn run. Use flat lines in the morning and afternoon and down
lines mid day is the way to go. The top water bite this week has been
slow. If you are lucky enough to come across breaking fish Rooster
Tails, Flukes, Popping Corks, Jerk baits and free lining shad will all
catch you fish. Trolling is working really and the Mack Farr 3 arm
umbrella rig has been producing. Color doesn't seem to matter, but
speed is a factor. The best speed has been between 3.3 to 3.5 miles
per hour. Remember the month April is one of the best months for line
side fishing. We still have a few days open this month and we're

Bass fishing is good. Some fish are beginning to spawn and the buck
bass are shallow and aggressive. Soft jerk baits like the big bite
jerk minnow fished with a quick retrieve is provoking some good bites
in the creeks and pockets. The top water bite is good and only getting
better. We are catching a mixed bag of spots, white bass and hybrids
around Iron Hill in the morning before 9am and later if we have cloud
cover. The Spro Dog, Hydro Pop and the Zara Spook are working. Take
the kids right now and throw a white Rooster Tail for good numbers of
bass and bream.

Bass fishing is fair. Wow what the difference a week makes. Water
temperatures have
jumped from 49 last week to a stable 55 to 56 degrees. The soft
plastic jerk bait bite has
turned on and the bass are headed shallow. Spots are staged and they
are eating. The
spawn is upon us. Shaky heads with trick sticks or Big Bite Shaky
Squirrel and the
Kacy’s Kustom jig fished slowly is getting good bites. Spinner baits
and shallow cranks
like the Fat John are great for active fish and are producing numbers.

LAKE ALLATOONA IS FULL, CLEAR & 54 DEGREES

This bass fishing report is from Matt Driver 404 456 6094
www.proanglerradio.com

Bass fishing has been tough this past week and I believe the multiple
fronts have got the fish wondering what to do. Water temperatures as
of Thursday were still 49 degree with stained water. Crank baits and
spinner baits have been doing the best but even the best isn't real
good. With the warming trend this weekend and the full moon we may see
a few fish shallow but they will all males. The water should warm soon
and we should start to see fish pull up toward their spawning areas.
The jig was good until the cold weather and high winds moved in but
the cold has slowed all the fish activity.

Lines sides fishing is fair. The cold front earlier this week slowed
the bite down. Look for the bite to rebound quickly as the water warms
back up. The river bite is on hold right now. The river is flowing out
of its banks and mudding. The river bite will pick back up as the
water starts to clear. This week your best chances to load the boat is
mid lake. The fish are schooling up from Kellogg’s Creek to Stamp
Creek. There is a decent top water bite right at sun up. Ride the lake
until you see busting fish. These fish will eat all most anything
Flukes, Red Fins, Sammie’s buck tails and spooks. There are fish from
the mouth of the Etowah River and as far south as Allatoona Creek. All
of your major creeks have fish in them right now. If you find the
baitfish, you'll find stripers and hybrids nearby. Flat lines in the
morning and afternoon and down lines mid day is the way to go.

This bass fishing report is from Matt Driver 404 456 6094

Bass fishing is good even though most fish are in open water chasing
bait. Side imaging and a good sonar are key right now. It is funny
when we get a little warm weather in early spring you think the fish
will go shallow and bite. Just the opposite the fish are in the middle
of creeks and are keying in on bait fish in the 10ft range. Baits like
the Spro Mcstick, the scrounger tipped with a big bite 4 in jerk
minnow and the A-rig with big bite Cain thumpers are doing the trick
when you get it to the right dept. it that time of year when hybrid,
white bass and spots are running together. It's a fun time to be on
the water. Be safe.

Line sides fishing is good. We have one more cold front this week. The
bait has started to move back in to the creeks and the stripers and
hybrids are close behind. If you’re not seeing them there yet check
the middle of the creeks. Use the Lowrance machines to find the bait
schools. Flat lining planner broads are still the best way to catch
fish. If you want a really big fish, it is time to go to big baits.
Big gizzards shad will be the best choice or even big trout will do
the job. When using big baits remember a stinger hook will help you
get more hook ups and more fish in the boat. The Mack Farr umbrella
bite is back on. When you get on top of them on the sonar they will
bite. The top water bite is slow. With spring right a round the corner
the bite could start any day. Call Ken about the Southern Fishing

Bass fishing slowed a little this week. The warmer weather actually
hurt the fishing a little. The fish are on the move and most have
pulled out a little as well as the bait fish. We are marking most fish
in the 10 to 12 foot range. The best bait going is the Spro McStick in
ghost minnow. We are using a little more aggressive retrieve than past
weeks. Fish can also be caught in that same depth rang on bluff walls
with a jig head worm and big bite green pumpkin Shaky Squirrel. We
have not seen the end of winter so expect changes to come the south
like bite has been the best bite this past week.

Line side fishing is good. March is starting off to be a great month
even with al the rain we are getting The fish are starting to show up
in the bays near Little River. The sea gulls are showcasing these fish
and are easy to catch when they are on top. Live bait fished on free
lines, planner boards along with throwing a spook we catch these fish.
There is also a good down line bite from Galt's Ferry up to Clear
Creek. These fish are deep and can be anywhere from 18 to 40 feet
deep. The south end is also picking up. Iron Hill is starting to
produce some really nice stripers. The numbers are better up lake. But
the bigger fish seem to be down south. Trolling is also starting to
pick up. We caught some great hybrids on Mack Farr umbrella rigs
anywhere we find clean water. We are starting to see some top water
action in the morning but is very short and limited. The top water
bite will improve as the water warms. So keep a Jr Spook ready. Spring
is here and so is the bite. We are all ready starting to book up for
April but still have some good days open for the end of March and most
of April. Call Ken about the Southern Fishing Schools exclusive ON THE

Bass fishing is fair and nothing major has changed weather wise, but
the fish seem to know spring is coming. Over the past week the jerk
bait bite has picked up. The Spro McStick 95 in ghost shad has been
the ticket. Also seeing a shallower bite start with a few bass being
caught later in the day in the 3 to 6 foot range on a Spro Fat John
crank bait and even a few on a spinner bait. We believe the jig and
jig head bite in the ditch areas should pick up soon. The forecast is
calling for warmer temperatures. We will see schooling action starting
in the next couple of weeks. This is a great time to be out there.

Line side fishing is good. The bite is getting better and so is the
water clarity. The bite this week has been decent. The majority of the
fish are still in sight of the dam but we are also hearing reports of
fish being caught mid lake and as far north as the flats at the delta.
The fish are in very tight schools and sometimes running very deep for
this time of year. This week we have caught a few fish on free lines,
but most of our catch is coming on down lines fished anywhere from 20
to 55 feet deep. The live bait bite is starting to change. The fish
have been on and almost a trout diet for most of the winter. But this
past week that has started to change. They seem to prefer shad over
trout 3 to 1 and even higher at times. Once the water temperature hits
55 degrees we will be using shad 100% of the time. We expect to have
an early spawn run this year. In the next week and a half, we will see
the fish start migrating north and start staging on the flats and
humps getting ready to make the run up the river. Call Ken about the

LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 5.9 FEET, STAINED AND 50 DEGREES

This bass fishing report is from Matt Driver 404 456 6094
www.proanglerradio.com

Bass fishing is good. If you are looking to catch both good sized bass
and the numbers of fish, this month is good as the great migration
begins. Both largemouth and spots will be moving up and feeding up to
prepare for the spawn that will begin as early as late March. The pre
spawn bite is great, but fish will be scattered due to the fact that
all bass do not move shallow at the same time. Fish will be moving
from the deep winter haunts to shallow flats. Areas to key on are
places like ditches and other deeper water near shallow flats. They
use these areas like a highway. A good bait to use during the pre
spawn is the McStick jerk bait in shad patterns. We use a slow
retrieve during the first of the month but increase the speed as the
water temp increases. March is also known as a crank bait month on
Allatoona, and a majority of bass tournaments are won this time of
year cranking. Hit areas with stumps and rock near the same areas we
just talked about. We use three different types of cranks, the Spro
Little John Baby DD, the Little John Standard and the Aruku Shad. Once
you locate fish in the ditches, slow down and use baits like a
Spotsticker with a Big Bite Baits Shaking Squirrel or a Kacys Custom
Jig to catch these big fish pulling up the spawn. Mix it up this
month, and if the lake stains, don’t worry. Get shallow and have fun!
The fish are still scattered, but the bite is picking up. A Big Bite
Bait Shaking Squirrel in the tilapia color has been working well on
both a shaky head and drop shot. Fish seem to be holding between docks
in the 15 to 18 foot range. As the weather warms up in March and the
water stabilizes more, there will be a more consistent pattern. We
caught some really good fish this week on a lipless crank bait in the
threadfin shad color. For both numbers and size, run wind blown
points. And when the bite slows, head for the docks and slow down.

Line sides fishing is fair. The lake is stained from Little River all
the way to the dam. The water is pretty clear from the dam south to
Clarks Creek. Finding fish is easy but getting them to bite is another
story. The better bite this week has been between the dam and Bethany
Bridge. There is also a bite from the Block House to Clarks Creek. But
both bites are fair at best. Down lining shad and small trout seem to
working equally as well. Most of the bigger schools are between 22 to
50 deep. If we could go two weeks without rain I think our bite will
take of. The water temperatures are really good for this time of year.
If we don't see a big prolong arctic blast, I think we will avoid a
shad kill again this year. This will make netting bait easier this
spring, but fishing may be a little harder. As we enter March, look
for these fish to move north and start staging for the spawn run. I
look for the run to start early this year due to the mild winter we
are having. I really look for these fish to make the migration north
by the second week of March. The white bass should show up first
followed by the hybrids and stripers. Trolling is still slow but is
getting better. The best times seem to be mid day and we are pulling
loaded umbrella rigs at 2.4 to 3.3 miles and hour and 100 behind the
boat. The trolling bite is just around the corner. We believe that
once the lake clears the trolling bite will get as good as the live
bait bite. Call Ken about the Southern Fishing Schools exclusive ON

Bass fishing is good and the lake is slowly coming up. The volume is
there but the Corp of Engineers is releasing pretty regularly which
helps the bite. The drop shot bite is getting really good and even a
few more fish this week on the red rooster float n fly. Fish seem to
be scattered but when the water is being released the fish are much
more concentrated on points and outcroppings on the main lake. Some
fish are being caught on the scrounger and the fish head out in open
water. The fish are after bait fish and aren't really holding to any
pattern other than the shad. Watch your Lowrance and keep in mind that
these fish are always on the move so opportunities may only be for a
cast or two. The old tried and true Kacys custom bluegill fire and the
spot sticker jig head tipped with a shad colored big bite bait shaky
squirrel are always go to baits when things get tough.

Bass fishing is fair. Rain again this week! I'm loving it. Higher
water levels, better water
quality, and tons of nutrients should be a great spring. The lake is
stained, but us it to
your advantage. Even though its winter, bass are still shallow for a
period throughout
the day. We are throwing the Fat John shallow square bill crank and
there are some
good fish in the mix. Shallow wood are key in the stained water. The
crank bait bite is
still good. The Spro little John baby DD in red raw pattern has been
good while the
water has been stained and we have found a few more fish in the mouths
of creeks we
have continued running wind blown points in the 10 to 15 foot range.
The jig bite is in
the good range still The Kacys Kustom blue gill fire jig, green
pumpkin red flake as well
as the Big Bite baits double tailed skirted grub in green pumpkin on
and around brush
primary and secondary points in creeks. The jig head is catching fish
as well just hard
finding active fish with such a methodical presentation. Numbers are
better but you still
need to run and gun to catch numbers. This week on Pro Angler Radio

The lake is muddy from Little River all the way to Kellogg's and

harder each week with
all the rain. The back of the creeks were holding fish but that has
changed with all the
rain. Free lines and planner boards in the morning and late afternoon

creeks will be your best bet until the main lake clears up. There has
also been a decent
bite in the Allatoona Creek arm all the way to the Block House. The
numbers have been
low but we have caught a few decent stripers near Harbor Town. After
the sun comes
up, switch to down lines and ease your way out to the middle of the

Bass fishing is changing daily with all the rain. We have already seen
a 4 degree temperature rise this week along with a ton or fain. This
runoff will push the bait out into the center is of the creeks. The
fish head spin and scrounger bite have been steady. Use a 3/16 or 1/4
ounce head with a 4 inch jerk minnow in albino. Count it down to 10
and slow real back. This is not a number’s bait right now but sizes of
fish are good. The jig bite is still good and we are still using the

Line side fishing is fair. We only spent two days on the water since
my last report due to all the rain. The north end of the lake is going
to be really trashed out in a couple of days do to all the rain we
have had this week. We are hoping the mud line does not make it to mid
lake by this week end. If it does, then work you way south until you
find the mud line. Downing small trout, shiners or shad should work
well fished 18 to 34 deep out of the river channel any where you find
clear water should work well. The bigger stripers are on the move and
up shallow. Planner Boards and Free-lines Mid Trout or shad will give
you a chance to catch one of the big boys. Stamp Creek to Iron Hill is
where we recommend anglers target big fish right now. The spoon bite
is also starting to pick up. We are having our best success on a 1
ounce white Flex It spoon. The top water bite is also picking up and
has been best north of Kellogg's. I hope the heavy rains we had
earlier this week doesn't push these fish down. Trolling is still dead

Bass fishing is fair. The best way to catch both quality and quantity
is with a Solid
Chartreuse 200 Bandit. Fish it on main lake points and flats in the
upper portion of the
lake, north of Galt's Ferry. The Jig bite is productive when fishing
the steep rock banks.
Cast a 3/8 Bass Patrol Jig in Black Blue or Brown and tip the bait
with a Zoom Creepy
Crawler Trailer. If you choose to fish the mid section of the lake,
throw a 3/16 Shaky
Head with a Bold Bluegill Robo Worm on main lake points. Be sure to
check any of the
deeper creeks for any baitfish. If you find them, fish a Drop Shot
tipped with a Tiny
Fluke in a Shad Color. You can also fish the creeks with the Bass
Patrol Jig. Keep in
mind that the lake is going to continue to rise and get more stained,
due to the rain. You
may need to choose darker colors for your Shaky Heads. For your crank
bait, you may
want to try a Series 4 Strike King, because it has a wider wobble. The
fish should be
able to detect it more easily. We have the “BASS FISHING LAKE

Bass fishing is good. During this month, we go deep and stay there
until mid February. Slow down, and concentrate on jigs, drop shots,
spoons and float n flies. As far as the jig, we are still using the
Kacy’s Kustom 3/8 ounce in bluegill fire for clear water and black and
blue when water is stained. Fish on the long rocky points near channel
swings. Work it slow, slow, slow, and keep it in contact with the
bottom. As for the float n fly bite, we switch to a duck feather craft
hair mix when water temperatures drop below 50 degrees. Remember float
n fly fish are being caught over 30 40 feet of water suspended bluff
walls using 10 to 12 foot leaders. The grey ghost and morning dawn
colors by Red Rooster are still working well. For the drop shot, the 4
inch Shaking Squirrel in bold gill and oxblood red colors is best.
Fish it on 6 pound Sunline fluorocarbon and use a size 4 drop shot
hook in 18 to 24 feet of water near or on channel drops. Do not over
work the worm. The water is cold, and fish are sluggish, so if you jig
your worm fast, it will not look natural. Bait balls are key for this
to work. We are fishing a 1 ounce Flex It spoon by dropping it into
schools and using small, short jerks. Watch the bait on your sonar to
keep it in the strike zone. Be ready because you will catch a mix of
white bass, spots, hybrids and even a striper on occasion. Red Top and
Bartow Carver and the mouth of Little River are areas that have been
producing the best.

Line side fishing is good. The bait is starting to move back into the
creeks and so are the striper and the hybrids. Mid lake seems to be
holding better numbers of fish then the south end and the north end of
the lake is trashed out do to all the rain. The best bite going right
now is live bait. Shad and trout fished on planner boards and free
lines at sun up and then again at sun down will catch you a few fish
in the back of the creeks. After the sun comes the fish will move out
to the mouths of the creeks and can be caught on Shad, Trout and
Shiners on down lines anywhere from 18-50 deep. The spoon bite is also
good mid day. Once the water temp dips below 50 degrees the spoon bite
will get better then live bait. The trolling bite is fair at best
right now and umbrella rigs are the only thing we are using. We have
had our best luck pulling my rigs 145 feet behind the boat at 3.1 to
3.4 miles and hour. As the lake starts to clears the umbrella rig bite
will get better. We have the Lowrance GEN2 Touch machine on our boat.

Bass fishing has been great this past week with several fronts coming

temps are still a little above normal. The Spro spooky shad McStick is
doing well, and the jig bite is still contestant with some really good
fish coming off the 3/8 Kacy’s Kustom jig in bream color. The key is
the keep your bait in the 10 to15 foot range. Most active fish are in
that range. The float n fly bite hasn't changed much at all even
though we need a little more cold weather to make the fly bite to turn
on. We are using the red rooster blue gill. Fish are most active in
the wind.

Line side fishing is fair. With all the rain and wind we had this week
our time on the water was limited this week. But the time we did spend
on the water was successful. We spent most of our time fishing mid
lake. The best bite going is down lining small trout out over the
river channel. We caught 95% of our fish this week on small trout on
down lines. Bartow Carver is probably the best bite going right now.

Bass fishing is hit or miss and lots of things are changing on the
lake. The numbers and size are decent this week. Concentrate on the
rocky shorelines on the northeast side of the lake as these shorelines
are the first to warm up as the sun rises in the morning. Keep your
boat in about 10 feet of water and cast to the shoreline. Most of the
bites are coming in about 5 to 8 feet of water and they are attacking
the Staysee 90 in American Shad color. Once you get the Staysee down
to its maximum depth, slowly reel the Staysee back to the boat with
the reel with some brief pauses. The drop shot bite with the Yamamoto
Flat Tails has been sporadic but should pick back up once the weather
stabilizes. Try some of the many marinas around the lake and fish the
boat slips in the 20 to 35 foot range. Also try drop shot rigs in the
brush in the same depth ranges as well.

Line side fishing is fair and they are starting to feed. There are two
different bites going on right now. There is a very good bite from the
Boys Club all the way north to the S turns. There are a few hybrids
and white bass busting top water and will eat almost anything when
they are up and active/ My bait of choice is a popping cork along with
a white fluke follow by a Rooster Tail. There is also a bite from
Kellogg’s Creek to Clear Creek. These fish are about 90 percent
hybrids and are being caught right over the river channel. Live bait
is working best and small trout has been the better bite on my boats.
Look for these fish in the bends of the river channel. The seagulls
are starting to show up. December is a challenging month for finding
the right techniques. However, it is also one of those months where
you can catch a trophy and a cooler full of smaller fish. Trolling has

Bass fishing is really good and now we'll have to see how this next
bit of cold weather does. We believe it may slow fishing for the first
few days but as the pattern stabilizes fishing should continue in the
good range. During this slow period we slow down and concentrate on
the jig and jig head bite. Just like in last weeks report the Kacy's
Kustom 3/8 blue gill fire fished on long rock points near channel
swings works great in these conditions. Fish the jig slow dragging the
jig and staying in contact with the bottom as much as possible. The
float and fly bite is still doing well and will get better as temps
continue to drop. Remember float and fly fish are being caught over 30
feet to 40 feet of water suspended on the bluff walls and we are using
10 foot leader range. The grey ghost by red rooster has been working
well. There bold gill Shaky Squirrel is my worm of choice. Fish it in
a slow drag style retrieve in 12 to 20 feet of water near channel
drops. The Red Top Mountain and Bartow Carver areas have been
producing the best. 404-456-6094 www.proanglerradio.com

Line side fishing has been fair this week. The fish are on the move
and can be caught anywhere from Little River to Iron Hill. The water
temperature is in the mid fifty's and warms the closer you get to the
dam. This usually the time of year we put my cast net up and fish
exclusively with small trout and Mack Farr umbrella rigs. Early
mornings, we put out a full spread of planner boards, free lines and
down lines. After 9am then we switch to all down lines. Then after 10
am we pull umbrella rigs. Overall the bite is starting to pick back up
and should in full swing by Christmas. Trolling has been the best
producer for numbers, but we have also caught some big fish this week

Bass fishing is great. Fishing has been on for the past week or so.
The nice temps and the full moon have put the bass in a feeding mood.
The floating fly bite is still on even though most consider it a cold

n-fly fished on a 9ft leader is your best bet. The jig bite continues
to get stronger. The 3/8 blue gill fire by Kacy’s Kustom baits tipped
with a Big Bite chunk and 16 pound Sunline Sniper line fished on
sloping points with rock are the ticket. Fish the jig slow and be
ready for a light bite, a good sensitive rod helps the bite to catch
rate. From now through early spring there should be a good jerk bait
bite also.

Line side fishing is fair. The bite is starting to get better, now
that the full moon phase is behind us as the fish are finally starting
to feed. There are two different bites going on right now. The primary
bite, and most are viewing it as the main bite, is up north. There is
a very good bite from the Boys Club all the way north to Sweetwater.
The hybrids and white bass are busting top water and will eat almost
anything when they are up and in this kind of feeding freezing. My
bait of choice is a popping cork along with a white fluke follow by a
Rooster Tail. The secondary bite is from Kellogg’s Creek to Clear
Creek. These fish are about 90 percent hybrids and are being caught
right over the river channel. Live bait is working best and small
trout has been the better bite on my boats. Look for these fish in the
bends of the river channel. The seagulls are starting to show up.
December is a challenging month for finding the right techniques.
However, it is also one of those months where you can catch a trophy
and a cooler full of smaller fish. Trolling has been hit and miss but
should be in full swing by mid December. We pull nothing but a Mack’s
Farr four arm umbrella rigs. We have the Lowrance GEN2 Touch machine
on our boat. Call and set up an On the Water Schools, 770 889 2654

Bass fishing is good. When you actually concentrate on the deep spoon
fish they are definitely there but best right at first light.
Concentrate your efforts around the mouths of creeks to about halfway
back. Alternating between a 3/4 and a 5/8 ounce Flex It spoons is
best. There are lots of hybrids and stripes in the mix with the spots.
Also, the crank bait bite is trying to pick up speed. It's also best
at first light and both of these bites will get stronger and stronger
as the temperatures continue to drop. Drop shot rigs and finesse worms
are also very effective. Docks and the same deep locations down lake
are perfect to try these techniques. Rig the drop shot with a Mosquito
hook. Almost any color will work but shades of green, Icicle and
Morning Dawn have been selling at the bait shops very well as an
indicator. Keep the rod tip tight and do not drop the rod while
fishing this bait. Pick deep docks down lake and around in the deeper
creeks. Green worms in a variety of shades will be the best way to
draw these fish to the baits. Use a small Zoom green or black Zoom
mini lizard with red flakes. Be sure to work the baits very slowly.

Bass fishing is fair. The weather has been up and down but no major
changes except after the passing of the cold front. Cold front can be
bite killers this time of year. We down size a little and target
suspended fish. The drop shot in the 15 to 20 foot range with a cut
down big bite shakey Squirrel or bio minnow, tiny fluke has been
getting the bites during these conditions. A few fish are coming on a
swimming jerk minnow in alewife on a 3/16 ounce jig head. Make long
cast over sloping points mid lake. Count to 8 and slowly begin to
reel. You will feel the fish hit but make sure the rod loads up before
you set the hook. Use the wind to your advantage. Also Prepare for
float n fly season is coming soon. A few fish being caught on red
rooster flies already. Ask Craig at the Dugout for the best set up.

Line side fishing is good. The bite is really starting to heat up on
Lake Allatoona and we have start catching some bigger fish as of late.
The north end of the lake is fishing best for stripers. Most of the
fish that went up the river this summer are back in the main lake and
are starting to eat.... Gizzard shad and trout fish behind planner
boards and free lines are working best right at sun up and again at
sun down. Mid day we are catch these fish on down lines right over the
river channel. Remember the river channel up north is only 24 to 28
feet deep. Drop you baits to the bottom and reel up a half a turn. Mid
lake is starting to heat up with Hybrid action. Kellogg's to Bartow
Carver is holding some nice schools of hybrids right now. These fish
are still holding right on the edge of the river and creek channels.
Thread fin shad and medium size shiners fish on down lines at 24 to 34
feet deep is working best. These schools are huge and are willing to
eat almost anything right now. If live bait isn't your thing be sure
to carry a 1 ounce white Flex it spoon with you. We are finally
starting to see a little top water action on the north end of the
lake. It has been hit or miss. But there are some really good schools
coming up right before dark between Little River and Fields Landing. A
white Roster Tail is had to beat on these schooling line sides. We
still have a couple of days open next week. Give me a call at 770 827

boat. Call and set up an On the Water Schools, 770 889 2654

Bass fishing is steady and looking good for the up coming week with
the moon waning. The jerk bait bite has been consistent. The Spro
McStick in shad patterns fished at a medium to fast pace on 10 pound
Sunline fluorocarbon with a 6'6 medium rod. Main lake and creek
mouths. The drop shot bite is also good. Find schooled fish and using
a 4 inch big bite shakey squirrel. Fish are in the 15 to 20 foot
range. There is still a top water bite but should only last a few more
weeks.

Line side fishing is fair. The bite is starting to improve and will
only get better as we enter into November. The sea gulls should be
showing up in the next week or two and this will make finding the
white fish a little easier on all of us. Right now I am spending most
of my time on the north end of the lake. Bait is plentiful in the back
of most creeks and around little river. Cast netting bait is very easy
right now and even the most novice of cast netters can net plenty of
bait. Now that is the good news. The bad news for you guys that like
to live bait fish is the live bait bite is only good for about and
hour right at sun up. After that trolling umbrella rigs and using
jigging spoons we be the key to catching numbers on Allatoona for the
next few weeks. The best bite going right now is from Little River to
the S turns and then there is a secondary bite from Kellogg's to
Bartow Carver beach and this bite is hit and miss and will remain that
way until the mid section of the lake completes turnover. Most of the
fish we are catching are 18 to 24 feet deep and can be found on
points, humps and flats early. And after the sun comes up you best bet
will be out over the river channel. The top water bite is slow, but
look for it to pick up in early next month. November is one of our
favorite months to fish Allatoona. Remember to be universal when it
comes to techniques this time of year. Trolling, top water and jigging
spoons will be the key to catching numbers on Lake Allatoona for the
next three months. We still have plenty of days open for November.

Bass fishing is good and November on Allatoona is a great time. Most
folks are deer hunting, so you have the lake to yourself. Fish are
easier to locate because the baitfish are grouped tighter and fishing
is easier to predict. Fish are still in the creeks but will be heading
deeper at the end of the month as water temperatures drop. The
spinnerbait bite is good. Secondary wind blown points are the place to
be during the first part of the month. As the temperatures start to
fall through the low 60’s and into the 50’s, the jerk bait bite turns
on. We are fishing points and mouths of creeks in the mid lake with a
Spro McStick in the smaller and larger sizes. When the water is in the
low 60s and high 50’s, we fish the bait with a quick retrieve on 10
pound Sunline Shooter fluorocarbon line. Still allow the bait to have
some slack between jerks to let the bait get plenty of action. At the
end of the month or sooner, depending on how cold we get, the float n
fly bite will get good when the water gets in the mid to low 50s.
Locate bait balls, and fish 8 to 12 foot leaders depending on depth of
the bait. We are using the red rooster, Allatoona special and bream
colors as well as morning dawn. We believe in the fly dope and shaping
the fly.

Bass fishing fair but the numbers are down. But the good news is the
good quality fish 2 to 3 pound fish biting well. The best bait going
is the swim bait and the spoon with an occasional fish on the
spinnerbait. We still haven't seen any kind of fish migration into the
creeks. We are still working the main lake areas mostly around the
creek mouths. Most of the shad are still fairly deep in the main lake
as well. Watch your sonar for the shad and the bass should be very
close behind. We are catching them anywhere from 25 to 55 feet deep on
the spoon.

Line side fishing is fair and the northerner end of the lake has
almost completed turnover. But the fish are not biting yet. The live
bait bite is very slow and is better in the late afternoon. Jig
spooning is catching decent numbers of white bass with a few Flatheads
in the mix and maybe the most consisted Trolling the umbrella rig bite
is probably the best over all bite if your looking for Hybrids and
Stripers.. But look for these fish to be on the smaller size. This
week we have been pulling our rigs 75 to 80 feet behind the boat on a
16 to 20 bottom. These fish are on the move. So make sure you cover a
lot of water. We have caught fish as far north as the S-turns this
week all the way south to the dam. The top water bite is dead. We have
seen very limited amount of top water action this week. Most of this
action are spotted bass. Look for the top water bite to pick up after
the lake finishes turning over. We have the NEW! Lowrance GEN2 Touch
machine on our boat. Call and set up an On the Water Schools, 770 889
