As usual, I totally out-fished Knute(The Heathen). Bait was hard to find ,again. I caught one bait fish in the cast-net and this time I let Knute use it. We drifted in the 30 to 35 ft.depth while riding the waves caused by the dam release. Knute caught a decent size (10 lbs or so) blue with the live bait. After that, we both had to use cut bait. I released my first fish caught. A blue of about 20 lbs. I caught three more in the eating size range so I kept them. Knute caught one little fiddler to end his catching for the day.
At sunset, we changed tactics and fished for white bass (stripers). I was using a 5 inch white fluke. Knute was using a much smaller fluke. I caught the first white and released it. I then caught another that broke my old mono line right at the boat. Nice fish. The ones that get away are always the nice ones! I need to re-spool that reel as I really have no idea how old that line is.The whites started biting just after sundown and lasted for only about 15 to 20 minutes as it started getting dark. I had to show Knute how to rig the fluke correctly. That poor man, I sometimes wonder why I take him along with me.
I turned on my navigation lights and we motored back to the launch to recover the boat. No excitement in backing the trailer in the dark and we were loaded and ready to come home.

Good luck buddy wish I was going with ya again. Tyme last weeks weight would have been about 68 to 70 lb for best five. Not exactly stellar but thought I would report.
Tell Doug I did contribute to....![]()
An admiral weight for best five. I suppose your "contribution" was handling the landing net for Chuck's fish!![]()
