Penn Jigmaster 500 reel for catfishing

A buddy of mine recently gave me a Penn Jigmaster 500 non level wind reel. I seated it on a Shakespeare Catfish pole and I think I'm going to like this reel. It holds 275yds of 30lb test mono line, I like that fact. Anyone have any opinions on these reels as they've been around for years it seems?

What baitcasters do you catmen use on your river outfits?

Abu-garcia C-3 and the BPS CatMaxx reels spooled with 25# Big Game or 65# PowerBraid. Those Penn reels should work just fine.
