No photos but Knute(The Heathen) and I had a pretty good day on the Ohio river on Thursday. First off, it wasn't supposed to rain until later in the afternoon. We got drenched. We both had rain-gear but it rained so hard and for so long that the bilge pump came on. I need to contact mhall for his accurate weather forecasts before I go fishing on a rain day.
Finally, the rain stopped and we started to catch some blue catfish. None of them were the "Big Boys" that riverrat12 catches but they did take out some drag and were in the 10lb range.
Oh,we also found another new to me rock in the river. No damage to the boat or propellor occurred form this encounter.
We were drifting in the bear claw area and found a spot where it went from 12 feet rapidly down to 25 to 30 feet. That's where the fish were, right on the drop off.
I started off with whole, live shad but then switched to cut shad tipped with chicken liver. It seems they were liking the chicken liver yesterday.
