Want to go to guntersville in a couple of weeks but am wondering if its to early?
kinda hard to say canepole if I was you just keep a eye on what kinda weather their haven down their in the next 2wks as you know they are further south then us it will take a little longer for the water temp to cool down and that is the key for fish to turn on in the fall:-D but I got say it can cool down fast!! anyway it goes it would be a lot of fun and good luck fishing:-)
You should hit just right. They are beginning to drop the lake now.
Fish are being caught fishing the edges of mats, frogs on the mats, now.
I am heading to Chickamauga this weekend, same patterns on both lake.
Water temps are mid 70's now. In 2 weeks should be in mid 60's, perfect.

Here is a great forum to check out for the Big G.

A few of the guides on there say the fishing is HOT every single day of the year in an effort to drum-up buisiness, but read through them and you'll find out the genuine guides vs. money hungry guys. I've used two guides that post regularly on that site and trust that their info is legit - Spinnerbait Kid and Fish Lake Guntersville Guide Service. Both are great sources of info.
Good luck and have fun, Guntersville is one of my favorite lakes to fish!!
We picked Chickamauga I think, most say Guntersville will be to early for the frog bite.
Never been there looking for a place to stay and is the North or South end the best this time of year?
