Ask the guide. They tend to be pretty honest about the fishing, as the REALLY DO want you to catch fish.

Ok so my mother bought me a guided striped fishing trip for my anniversary gift this year. It's with. I've been reading all the Cumberland posts on here for a little while and I want some input. The real question is should I reschedule the trip for another time of the year or hang on to the date I have?
Ask the guide. They tend to be pretty honest about the fishing, as the REALLY DO want you to catch fish.
Darn, if I had a freeby, I'd take it cuse gift horses get tired of opening the mouth for rescheduling expectations.
OMG...it's free, and and experience of the lifetime.
The timing should be fine if the weather stays cool you should have a good time. Looks like next week is going to get colder so you should be in good shape, I would keep the dates you have.
It's pretty good year round. Dec-march are a little dicey re weather and wind (on humans). Fall is dicey because of wind. Around thanksgiving is a known good time for good fish. Week before or after thanks giving but its a roll of the dice. I would go with the week before thanksgiving. When they are up in the creeks wind is less of a problem but it can still be a problem. Its a roll of the dice.
Like fishincreek said ask the guide. Ask when they should be up in the creeks in numbers. Throw a dart at the calendar and go with it. Hope I didn't confuse you more . I think it comes down to weather that time of year.
Let us know how it went
It looks like while I was typing that last post Justin made a post. His take might be better than mine. He has his own drone and can see what's going on from a Birdseye view. LOL. Watch his video in a recent post titled something like Striper jumps. It will get you fired up.
Thanks for the input guys. I saw his video on the other thread and it was awesome lol. Can't wait to get down there and do some fishingIt looks like while I was typing that last post Justin made a post. His take might be better than mine. There are a lot of stripers in Cumberland and they'll be feeding like crazy through Thanksgiving. The guides on Cumberland are exceptional so I second the notion of just doing it.
