Green hasnt been good at all. Baits up everywhere in the afternoon so your best bet eould be to head there later in the day
This is true, last weekend the back of practically every cove was full of shad in the afternoons. We caught a few small fish around wood but nothing to brag about.
Regarding LC, based upon Peters latest report re oxygen levels, data suggest fish will be above 35 feet. To me this suggest main and secondary points, i.e., sitting in 40 feet of water and dragging jigs (slowly) to de boat. Also, not to forget a little top water action in early/late in the day! Good time for some night time SM action on LC. I'm sure M. Hall would agree! BUT I COULD AND USUALLY AM WRONG...!
COME ONE, COME ALL, LAKE CUMBERLAND IS OPEN FOR SOME GREAT FALL SMALLMOUTH FISHING.....

To answer your question I have not been to lake C in three weeks and wasn't fishing the last time I was there. Usually this is a transition time for the Bass and some fish will be shallow. The big Smallmouth will still be a little deep, but some will come up early and late, topwaters can catch these fish. Cranks and jigs will catch some to, don't be afraid to fish that Jig all the way to the boat. Stripers are coming up in the jumps but the jumps are sporadic and mostly short lived which is real typical for this time of year. However if you are near one and in casting distance you will get you a few and can be very fun.
Wish I had more, if I had to pick from the two I would pick Cumberland especially since what Steven just said and if anybody knows what's going on at Green it's Fishin is life.
Hope it helps a little.

Jeff where the hay have you been?? Your more elusive than big foot LOL. There's been lots a good info on the big C here lately. I figured you would have hit me up for a trip on the river for some whiskers by now, guess works been keepin you and cuz busy. Listen to Mark he's got many years of experience down there and can put you on some fish.He loves his brown fish and untill I can put him on his 60 he's going to be hard to sway LOL. Hope all is well and give me a holler sometime. Chuck
I guess it's cland then. How ya been Chuck? If anyone wants to share about cland, what creek should I focus on. Will probably put in at the state ramp unless anyone has anything better I should do. Been a while since I've been on the big C. And to add gotta love them brown fish!!!![]()
Spent a week above and below the dam. Got one cast into a jump for a 26 inch fish. Caught several stripes below the dam along with walleye and some white bass. Above the dam we caught a lot of ky's and a few smallies on shiners off main lake points in 20 ft of water. Buzz bait was hot in the mornings,. Great trip in all
Buzz bait, where are me BUZZ BAITS? Thanks for the report. Plans are to be out on the lake later this week, am/pm on the West end, State Park to the Dam), main lake and secondary point and maybe up in Indian Creek. Looking for some small mouth action.Spent a week above and below the dam. Got one cast into a jump for a 26 inch fish. Caught several stripes below the dam along with walleye and some white bass. Those 1/4 oz dollar buzz bait in white from wallyworld were the hot item, fish didnt want anything bigger. There is a real sharp point directly across from beaver creek with a pocket right behind it and a big rock up high that could fall anytime. This point had fish stacked up like cord wood on it. Another hot spot was all the way up otter creek to the riffle, water was 67 degrees, lake was 78-80, kys were feeding hard. Found that 1 jump half way back otter creek.
After thinking about it for awhile and not being on c-land for a few years I decided instead to go to Barren and it was well worth the switch. I quit counting at 25. they were up as shallow as they could get in the backs of feeder creeks gorging on shad in the old brush that was still there. Had 7 keepers for the day with 3 close to 5lbs. All on a spinnerbait. Talk about fun. Can't wait for another day off!!
