    Place to stay in Guntersville??

Me and a friend are headed to Guntersville next Friday. We were just gonna stay at the Super 8 but I'm open to suggestion as long as it isn't ridiculous expensive. We are fishing with a guide early on Sat and I'm worried about leaving my rig unattended for a few hours. Who can recommend a place that either has good security or a business that will accommodate such a thing? Last thing I wanna do is come back with no prop, trolling motor, or worse! Thanks

    Try Waterfront Bait and Tackle
It's between Gunt & Scott but have rentals. You could leave your boat there I bet.

I think our guide is gonna leave out of Pine Island ramp and that's right there at Waterfront Tackle so that should work great! Thanks!

I go to Guntersville often,,,,,used to do some work down there. The Super 8 is safe as well as the Days Inn just up the road. I would definitely stay in Guntersville as that is where most of the best fishing is and great places to eat. I always stay at the Hampton Inn, but it is a bit more pricey,,,,,,,but really nice. There are launches within a few hundred yards of both places.

I found a new cabin right next to Waterfront Tackle. I think I have it worked out. Looks nice and good boat parking!

whatever you do choose to do be vigilant down there about crime. I was down there once and they stole a truck and trailer right out of the parking lot at the ramp across the street from waterfront. We put in at mink creek once and came back in to see someone looking in the windows of our truck they seen us and took off. One time when we was down there we stayed at the days inn in guntersville and someone robbed quite a few boats in the parking lot. We always stay in scottsboro at the jamison inn they are well lit and have very few problems. Just giving you a heads up. We go down a few times a year to the Big G but have fun and stay safe... I still go back every year just because that is an awesome place. My wife dont know this yet but we will have a home on or around that lake when we retire. LOL....

Thanks Ryan. I talked to the new owners of Waterfront Tackle and they have new cabins there close to the store which is where we are gonna stay. She said they have security on the property so they do the best they can. I guess you can't completely eliminate the threat but I'm with you on taking every necessary precaution. That and I carry a pistol if I go to the bathroom! I'm looking forward to the trip I just don't want anyone to have my stuff!! This will be my first time on G lake. I hear it has some big ones. Thanks again!
