    first time fishing the river

I put in at Harrods Creek Sunday morning, and fished the river for the first time. My brother and I went Kayaking for about 5 hours and landed 13 fish. One nice smallmouth, 3 largemouth, and the rest spots. I also broke two off, and missed a couple others. Most of them came on jigs, and few on crankbaits. The weather was perfect, the scenery was nice, and the fishing was awesome. Looking forward to many more days on the river. Can't believe it took me so long to try this, being so close and all, sure beats a long drive to the lake.

I've fished Harrods all year and I have only caught 1 spot and no smallmouth. What part of the creek did you catch them?

I am not familiar with the area, or marina names, as far as what area we fished. We caught all of our fish after the second bridge, and all were caught on banks that had rock. No rock no fish. Once we figured this out we caught all of our fish in probably an hour and a half time period. 90% of the fish were caught after I missed a fish and threw back into the spot, don't know if they were multiple fish or the same fish every time. Don't like to miss fish, but I did like the extra bites, and I can say we never missed them the second time.
