    Honda motors and props.

Had a Michigan wheel aluminum with XHS hub. Dinged the prop, when changing it, found the rubber of the hub system vulcanized to the point it crumbled like it is as crystalized. Honda exhausts thru hub, is the exhaust heat killing the hub? Anyone had this happen? Are rubber hub systems a bad idea with Honda motors?

Figured it out. It's not a rubber hub but a Delrin Plastic sleeve that goes in the hub. The impact caused the sleeve to shatter, as designed to protect the motor's shaft.

Next question. What do you all do with damaged aluminum props? Don't want to repair, I replaced the prop. Is there some place you can turn in old props for salvage value? Any prop shops that pay you for the carcasses?
