I called sugar ridge HQ and talked to Susan up there and she asked the property manager if we could fish again at Bluegrass F&W area now that duck hunting season was over. He said YES.

We can fish again at Bluegrass F&W areas pits.

Now if you have a snow mobile and an ice auger you can reach the fish. It's been cold for a while now and I'd be willing to bet that the ice is getting thicker. But remember that these pits can be as deep as 60+ ft deep and it takes a lot of cooling to freeze the water cold enough to get the ice thick on the bigger pits.

Now the smaller shallow pits may have thicker ice on them but just make a bunch of test holes and make sure that the ice it thick enough to support you.

We already had one guy drown this week on the Ohio River. Recovery operations are still underway trying to find the body. My condolences to his family and friends.
