Elkhorn Creek @ Great Crossing Frida 3/14

Ran down to Great Crossing from about noon till 4:00. Had the best day ever on Elkorn as far as keeper size fish. Water temp 49-50 and clear with about 3 feet visibility. I landed six 12-15 inchers and lost 2 more that would have kept at the boat. I only caught 1 short and lost 1. Three of the keepers were green and three were brown with the best being the 15 football in the picture. All fish caught on the rock banks on a shad crankbait. I didn't get a single hit on the soft bottom areas. Steve

Thanks for the report. I'm wanting to go today if I am able to get somebody to go with me. When you get older and have an injury you really are apprehensive about launching and recovering boat. I figured it was time for them to turn on down there. The water temp is just a tad warmer than what I thought it would be.

I went late this morning and caught several largemouths and a few smallmouths. I used minnows and also threw a black/silver shadrap and caught 2 on that. No real size. Temp was 49-51 degrees and a beautiful day! Shame weather is going to mess up for a few days.
