KY River (Frankfort area)

Anybody been on KY river in the Frankfort area lately? Pool #3 0r #4? I know it's been up but it is steadily getting down to a better level. I personally don't fish it until it gets to 8 foot or less. I hope to fish pool #2 sometime this year. I'll have to go for a drive one day and scout out a ramp after getting info from KFW site. Any input from pool #2 also would be helpful if anyone wants to share.

I figured I was pushing the fishing in Ky river this early. We had more rain than I thought because the river rose sharply. I am still interested in pool #2. Not looking for honey holes just general info on the pool and ramps.

Lock 1 in lockport usually has sauger n white bass right and its got a higher floord stage so its fishable longer so lockport could be a good choice

Crappie, bass.

Crappie and Bass are good in the creeks but there are only 2 in that pool. You can go up both a little ways in a boat. The only boat ramp in pool 2 is in Lockport and is the 6 mile creek ramp. It is a good ramp but not much parking. They built as new ramp in pool 1 a mile from the dam in Gratz with good parking. I have done better fishing in pool 1. Hope this helps.

Ive caught some crappie at lockport but not big ones i usually wear the white bass and sauger out there this time of year and totally have caught monsters there i hooked something that pulled the boat upstream towards the dam

No problem im betting elkhorn is gonna be a mess for a few days after today and tomorow tim to get out there with a night cralwer below 25 dam by the rock house that tip i gave ya on the elkhorn post i think ot was will put u on some of the biggest bass in elkhorn
