Went from 8:30 to 2. Air temp 34 at start of the day climbed to 65. Fishing Creek; Water started 48 went to 52 end of day. Fished jigs and minnows. Brush from 8 to 20 feet. Caught one keeper on a minnow. Marked fish all day. Talked with five other boats, all similar results. Hope you can do better than us.
Was there Sunday Mar 30th for a little tourney ... fished Wolf Creek ... water temps 47-51 deg ... caught nice Crappie from around standing trees in 20ft of water, fishing 6-7ft deep with minnows. Only 5 boats in the tourney, & 3 boats fished the same trees for most of the day. They caught theirs early in the day, but we didn't start fishing those trees until midday. Water was clear to dingy looking, and you could see down a couple of feet with polarized sunglasses. Marked fish out in the creek at mostly 17ft deep (in 20-25ft of water) ... but got no takers spider rigging around them. Lake rose a few inches while we were there .. 7AM to 2PM CDT. Winning weight was 8.72lbs for 7 fish ... Big Fish was 1.96lbs.
They're not ready at Cumberland, but the next couple of weeks could tell the tale, as they are moving towards the backs of the creeks.
