looking for a lake

Does anyone know of any lakes small or medium sized were crappie and lm are bitting having trouble deciding were to go to on sunday most the lakes i know have a creek going into them and i know thats gonna make the water choppy n nasty a few days just wondering were there are some spots in the general area of georgetown and paris

Lake Carnico in Carlisle (about 30 mins from Paris) is always clear, no creeks running into it, and used to be pretty good for crappie. It's a small, idle speed only lake. I think is 300-400 acre lake.

Actually it may be 100-200 acre lake, it's small. But you can put any size boat on it, just idle speed. And I've never seen it muddy, and heard there was good crappie fishing there.

Ive always been told the crappie on it are dinks like less than 9 inches but ive yet to see ive fished it a few im thinking we may just hit that i have no clue though i want big crappie and atleast 15 of em to split but ive seen pics of white bass on there i know a few guys who hit it last week end caught 11 keeper bass and 2 keeper white bass

I'm not sure, I've only bass fished it, and haven't bass fished it in 2-3 years. It has some decent largemouth in it, and I was always told there were a lot of crappie in it, but don't know what size the crappie are. I do know it hardly ever gets muddy.

I believe thats what were gonna try is there i may be able to find some keeper size crappies im not 100% sure i will but we will try thanls for the info man i appreciate it

If you have a graph use it to locate some brush piles. There are plenty that have been sunk over the years. There are a couple out and left of the ramp and several on the far side of the lake that are pretty deep. Lot of the crappie are smaller you'll have to wade through those to get any decent ones.

It's not recommended to stock Crappie in a pond less than 50 acres, and especially not using White Crappie. Black Crappie do better, but still require space & a food source. They also need a predator species in the pond with them, to control their numbers, as they are prolific breeders and can overpopulate a small pond ... stunting their growth. (which is basically what is happening to Corinth and several of the other smaller lakes in that part of the state)

The bass and catfish feed on them and there is an abundance of shad and baitfish ive also thought of throwing shiners and minnows in there this summer its a 20 ft deep hole in the ground i believe 10-20 8-9 inch crappie wouldnt make a huge differance also the bass in this lake grow monsterouse
