    Cumberland

What's it look like now that they are letting it go back to full pool? Is it close to being back to full yet? Are there floaters everywhere? Thanks

Went out looking around today. Water temp 63.3 late morning from jamestown all the way back Greasy Ceeek to the new 127 bridge at the rapids. Main lake at bugwoods was about a half degree cooler. Some large floaters in main lake and greasy but not bad at all in daylight. I have seen it twenty times worse. Night time you would be smart to use a spot light and go slow. Drift was not a factor at all for me. If you striper fish it would be easy to pull boards everywhere I went. Drift can change quickly though.

From what I saw the many of the trees tops are completely under water except in the back of the coves and creeks and points (relatively speaking)...so a top water lure thrown at the bank would be feasible.

Fishing creek viewed from the cumberland parkway looked like some big bass hangout you see on TV down south.

With the lake up for me it is much harder to read what the bottom does from looking at the shore. Mostly the shore all looks the same.

    Water is murky everywhere.

    Thanks Peter,

I wouldn't be striper fishing, I bass fish (LM, SM, KY). And was thinking of heading down soon. But I live in Lexington (about 1 1/2 hrs away). So I wanted to see what it was like. I hardly remember what it looked like 7-8 years ago at full pool. But thinking it could be good for bass fishing with all the new cover. I just remember when I was down there last spring and they weren't raising it back to full pool, but we got a lot of spring rains and it was up - it had washed so much stuff out off the bank. I put in at fishing creek and went out to the mouth of the creek to the main lake, and there were so many floaters that there was absolutely no way you could've gotten up on plain and ran. I was trying to avoid stuff going 10-15 mph and that was a task! So I figured it was a good thing they were raising it back up to normal, but figured it'd look like a floating forest for a while.
