    Work before play

If you want to play you have to work. Today we're off to pay Property Taxes and then on to Kroger's for combat shopping.
Tomorrow I'm going fishing on the Ohio river above the upper dam.
I just tied a drop shot looper knot on my line and I plan on crimping a couple of large split shot below the loop in an attempt to catch some catfish on the float technique. My other rod is pre-rigged for bottom fishing with a three way swivel.
I've got a third rod ready with Kevin Van Dam's double fluke rig in case there are any stripers in the area.

Chuck, you're going to get wet on Friday.

My boat tags are current and I have both Ky and IN fishing licenses so I'm good no matter what creek I might find myself up, paddle or without a paddle!!

It was a fun afternoon on the Ohio river. There was a lot more floating debris than we anticipated. Big logs and junk still floating downstream.
We avoided any collisions with said debris and motored up river to our "spot".
We tried drift fishing along one island with no success. We than anchored close to the Indiana shore and started catching some blue catfish. No great size, all about 2 lbs or less but we reeled in about 20 or so between us. Feeling lazy and not wanting to clean fish this evening ,all fish were released.
There was a bass tournament out of Duffy's Landing so a flotilla of bass boats went roaring by us while we were anchored.
The boat is in the barn and the bourbon is in my glass. Tight lines to y'all.
