Venice Jetties

Next week will be in Casey Key and want to catch mangrove snappers. I've been told to use live shrimp and fish the rocks at the jetties. Can anyone confirm this and suggest tackle? I'm a Kentucky bass fisherman and can use any and all help. Thanks and don't forget to set da' hook!

Don't know about this time of the year but during January I was catching them in a river using crappie jigs. Quick jerk and drop worked best. I call them bluegills on steroids.
