Story looks legit and that picture with the CO's with it in the truck does to. I have been very skeptical about these stories but this one may have legs.

Wow to my knowledge this is the very first they have totally confirmed. Hey Glenn if there is one..........be careful out there especially retrieving your deer if left alone for a spell. Cougars aren't always afraid of people.

I wonder if this was someone's captive animal that got away or released into the wild. Exotic animals are a real issue here in this state and some others.

I have no idea if it was a pet release or wild, either way the **** things are around.

I'm more worried about my dogs and livestock than myself,I'm to old a gristly for anything to want to eat

My Border Collie herd dogs go out from sight sometimes and I'd hate to lose one of them, besides being part of the family,I have too much invested.

A deer hunter video taped one here on Hwy 22 between Falmouth and Williamstown recently and others have seen them,I'm always looking for tracks, had my horses acting pretty crazy one night, but could have just been coyotes or one of these https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...b4&oe=5500F0DB

I'd like to hear more information on why they killed it. The story is pretty lacking.

Kentucky Fish and Wildlife confirmed some of their officers killed the mountain lion Monday night. They say public safety was a concern and that's why they killed the animal instead of tranquilizing it. They say the incident is rare and extremely isolated.

Yea and they use to say that about Coyotes years ago to. I am starting to wonder if more of these exist in the extremely rural parts of Kentucky then they are letting on.

So if they really are starting to move into KY, then their policy will be to shoot them all?

Good question and I don't think there will ever be a semi large population of Cougars in our state. With that said if it did indeed happen I would suspect major outrage from farmers and livestock owners. There would be a lot of them shot by home and land owners and I would assume the KDFWR would encourage it as they do with Coyotes.

Interesting topic and one I am sure the boys in Frankfort are pondering deeply. Seriously...what do you do?

Yeah - that's kind of why I'm asking. If they really start living here, they'll have to figure out some plan of action. I can't really see them shooting them all.
