Planning A Camping Trip and Need help

I have several 14 and 15-year-old boys that camp with my two boys and I regularly and they have requested a trip to the Cumberland River. I have never been there so I'm shooting from the hip here. Is there a preferred spot to tent camp with river or stream access?

I'm not sure what the regs are concerning camping outside of the designated campground, but I wouldn't recommend it due to water fluctuation.
The campground (Kendall campground, I think) is really nice and within walking distance to the river for fishing. It's close to the dam so there are plenty of trout to be caught in that area.

Kendall is AWESOME, with great access to catch trout,............GREAT, GREAT.

Yes Kendal has riverside camping spots in campground.They are some you can walk down too if you are part goat

Kendall is great campground river access to catch trout and the hatchery is at the top of the hill I think it's pretty cool!!
