Dale 1/3, clear around state dock 52

After struggling for a couple days I begin reading some of the post on Small Jaws and decided my routine was not helping.
Moving off channel banks, I moved to some transition banks which changed from mud to broken rock then to shelves and it paid off.

I was able to stay busy most of all mid afternoon, drifting live bait on the bottom bouncing it anywhere between 21/26 ft range paid off. Boated 7/8 fish nothing real heavy but fun

    Some stain

Not muddy at all near Lilly or state dock. No noticeable trash
Stain means instead of 8 ft of visibility it's may be 4 ft

    Thanks Rick

I second that. I enjoy reading your winter reports. By the way, I took your advice and finally pulled the trigger on a couple bait runner reels for my live bait fishing. Has helped with hookup ratio tremendously in the first two outings. Plus the kids love to listen for that reel sing.

    lol

They are fairly rugged I have been using them for 5/6 years. Mine take a beating from others using them

Handle getting bent along with the bail, but mechanically solid

    I like the middle model # 30

For some reason I think the 20 is a smaller frame 30 is in the middle, 40 is on a larger frame,
I try to stick with 6.5 ft spin rod med / heavy action
For those that are learning or may have a drag issue
a little faster wippy er tip may make up for some mistakes at boat side

Small mouth will always make a second or third dive before u net em

All Bean wants do at Dale is throw the umbrella. Have to admit though, the boy is a pretty good stick. (Don't tell him I said that.)

Dale largemouth are big and numerous too. Green...brown, I don't care, need to get over there.
