The other foot.
Obama will give the GOP Senate some more rope and let them delay and obstruct his nomination in order to show the world how the GOP plays dirty politics. Yes George it's hard ball politics that will have a laster effect on our country and the world. This is a game changer ( make up of the US Supreme Court). The SCOTUS has been ruled by conservatives for many years and maybe it's time to see the court's make change. Maybe not.
I was reminded today about how the Dem's obstructed the Reagan Nomimation (Bork) for many months. So I guess turn about is fair play.
If I were Obama I'd play the Recess Appointment card since the GOP leadership Mitch McConnell has stated many times that his job is to obstruct Obama as much as possible. I'd make the recess appointment and see how the card fall. I don't think that the Dems would lose NY or CA for that matter. But the GOP won't forget it. These days one has to do what they can do. There is nobody willing to compromise and that's the problem. Obama will most likely wait and nominate a moderate in due time as he said yesterday. And let the GOP do their thing for the next 11 months. But remember that the SCOTUS will be without a 9th member for two terms if the Senate doesn't do their constitutional duty and hold a vote and hearing. If they continue to obstruct the Senate may go back to the Dems as there are many more GOP senators up for reelection this year than dem. And if the GOP lose the White House again this year the Dems will be back in the driver seat in the WH and Senate and will then appoint a liberal to the SCOTUS. I'm sure that the GOP won't like that.
Any way it's going to be interesting to watch this proceed the next year.
