I have a powerdrive (prior model to V2) that I added the copilot. Love it. No problems with response whatsoever. Can run the thing from anywhere in the boat. Do a lot of trolling and haven't had any problems.

I have the terrova 80 with I-pilot and it has the remote control, i hope I never have to use a foot control ever again, I love the remote, lower your trolling motor and raise the prop up out of the water and lock it. so your GPS will work, then use your big motor to run your boat and press record on the trolling motor, then just follow the ledge you want to fish, or a weed line, after you record the trail, lower the trolling motor prop in the water and press start to end or end to start, and fish the speed you like and set the cruise control and you do nothing but fish, no fighting with a foot control trolling motor, when you hook a fish, just press the anchor button, the boat will stay right where you hit the anchor button, land the fish and press the button again and your boat starts following the trail again. you do nothing but fish, the remote takes all the work out of it.

if you fish by yourself, and the loading dock is busy, just lunch your boat and let the trolling motor down, use the remote and guide your boat out about 30 feet from the bank and hit the anchor button, go park your truck and when you get back just use the remote and call the boat over to the dock or bank and get in and go fishing..

here us a link to previous thread. I think it depends on what you are fishing for and the "terrain". Each has positives and negatives.

I went with the pedal controlled.
