    WOW..........Louisville POUNDED with NCAA Sanctions

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/15/s...ncaa.html?_r=0

I don't know if I agree or not.

Bottom Line, Pitino should have knows what his subordinates were doing, and the fact that he "washed" his hands of it, I believe lead to the smackdown.

If the sanctions hold, they will lose over 100 games and 18 NCAA tourney games, meaning their 2013 NCAA title will be stripped.

    Serious business folks......SERIOUS.

    Later,

    Geo

I believe this whole thing is going to end up in a court. If it does, it's going to get ugly.

    A compelling question......

If Pitino was not involved enough to know WHAT was going on with strippers and prostitutes, how was he "involved" enough to suspend players for curfew violations, etc, etc, etc.

I'm sorry, but I believe Slick Rick knew about it all, every single bit of it.

He might of said "I don't want to know about it", or might have said "you take care of it", or whatever............bottom line, his reputation has been tarnished as a FANTASTIC basketball coach by his personal off the court antics, and now his teams off the court antics........

    SAD, if you ask me.

"In a year-and-a-half investigation, with access to Pitino's phone records and electronic communications and those of his assistant coaches and other U of L personnel, after nearly 100 interviews, the NCAA found no evidence that Rick Pitino knew of these events, even indirectly. Nor did he turn a blind eye." Eric Crawford, after reading the NCAA report.

    Big 10? fan.

I 'm not a ky fan, ot a louiville fan. And college is about academics to me, not a farm system for the NFL or MBA. When a missouri river conference grad left school after 5 seasons, and couldn't fill out a job application, it shows you what I think about college coaches making a million bucks, while some un=tenured prof can barely make a living with a degree.

Perhaps if the Un-tenured professor was doing his job as well as the basketball coach was, he would have made tenure.

As far as coaches salaries go, none of that is coming out of your pocket, so why do you care? I don't disagree that college should be about academics, but athletics is a small part of a large problem!

    Why I care

Because when the alumni go to extreme measures to induce players to get into their favorite programs, and bend rules to suit them, then it shows what a lack of ethics has become. No it does not come out of my pocket, but isn't there supposed to be a standard of ethical behavior? But everything is legal, till you get caught.

I'm as big of a UofL fan as there is. I am ok with everything as long as UNC and Baylor get the death penalty. Hell State Penn I mean Pen State was aloud to play in a bowl just 2 years (I think) after they were crushed. To me that is the worst thing of all. Involving Children.
