I don't ever remember them sluicing this time of year. I thought they only sluiced in the fall. Does anyone know why there are sluicing so much now? Is it just because of the lake water level?

I'm gonna assume water levels. With more rain predicted this weekend its liable to continue. I have been trying to get down there to fish the dam for 3 weekends now and the rain has just shot my January fishing. I caught a ten pound brown down there last year in January and haven't even been able to launch my boat this year.
Due to all the recent rains, Cumberland Lake is only a couple of feet below SUMMER POOL at 721 .... when it should be down around 673 (Winter Pool). Although, it never got below 697 last year and 702 back in 2017 ... but, still that's 20+ feet of water more NOW than in the past two years.
And according to this chart : http://cumberland.uslakes.info/Level/ ... it only fell 4 inches since yesterday.
