"Livescope" is a transducer & blackbox ... it will only work on certain Garmin units : Compatible with GPSMAP® 8400/8600 series MFDs, GPSMAP 7400/7600, 1002/1202, GPSMAP 1202/1202xsv Touch, 702/902 series chartplotters and X2 Plus series and ECHOMAP™ Plus 70cv/70sv and ECHOMAP UHD and 90sv chartplotter/sonar combo series.
Thanks. I found the information I needed. Now just need to decide how big of a screen, too go with."Livescope" is a transducer & blackbox ... it will only work on certain Garmin units : Compatible with GPSMAP® 8400/8600 series MFDs, GPSMAP 7400/7600, 1002/1202, GPSMAP 1202/1202xsv Touch, 702/902 series chartplotters and X2 Plus series and ECHOMAP™ Plus 70cv/70sv and ECHOMAP UHD and 90sv chartplotter/sonar combo series.
Rick ... I've fished in a buddy's boat that has LS & the 93sv (which seems to be a popular size, but that may be due to price). I had no problems seeing what was going on on the screen. His is mounted on the trolling motor shaft, so it is a bit of a feat to keep the target in view when fighting the wind. There are several makers of separate mounts for the transducer, so as to avoid that situation, but they're manually operated and may be somewhat cumbersome to operate while trying to fish, control the boat with the trolling motor, & manually move the mount to keep the target on screen. I don't know, as I've not fished with anyone that has that type of setup. I do know that the LS cone is narrow and you can quickly lose the target if conditions are not favorable to maintaining a steady position.
I also know that it's a power hog (draws about 4.83 amps) so it may require a separate battery of its own.
I purchased a unit. I went with the 12 inch screen. I also contacted Mark of Cornfield Crappie,
He builds an design s mounts for the transducer. He offers a remote controlled system, which is what I’m
Going for. I’ll let u know how it turns out.
