    Trouble turning right

My fish and ski boat wants to spin the prop and almost completely stop when I turn sharply to the right, especially when I am pulling my son on his tube. Does anyone know what is causing this or what can be done to correct it. It seems to do it worse when turning right as opposed to the left. Can't seem to figure it out. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    RE: Trouble turning right

sounds like it is blowing out.the engine is probably a little high or it may just be the prop,if you have a over\through hub style prop you need to change to a standard size prop to keep exhaust from going out over the blades,if you have a three blade you need to switch to a four.find someone who has a different one or two se if you can test them.what do you have on it now?

I have a 3 blade prop. Don't know what you mean exactly about the over hub style.

    RE: Trouble turning right

it will look like the prop is a little smaller than the gearcase, this lets a little exhaust go over the hub to allow slipping on take off so it will revv quicker.some props have vent holes,i had to have one welded shut on my raker to get it to vent less. For tubing with a bass ski style boat you need a prop that doesn't do this or you can have that one reworked, tell them what you are doing and they can customize it but you will lose topend probably. If you don't mind prop swapping the quad r jet 4 blade aluminum cabellas has are good and alot less than stainless, drop 1 size in pitch will make an easier hleshot, just watch top end rpm,but you probably have enough rpm room to play with, usually the extra blade will offset that some.
