I am making this post for a friend of mine that needs the keel on his boat repaired. He has a 18' aluminum Express that has a very large dent in the keel. For those of you that are not fimiliar with the Xepress hull they are made just like a fiberglass hull. They have chines on the pad and the keel is just like a glass boat. The very large dent is located about 4-5 feet away from the tip of the bow right in the center of the keel. The dent is 2-3 feet long and in the center of the dent it is about 4 inches deep (I said it was a big dent LOL) It does not leak but when the motor is trimmed up and you are on the pad and try to make a turn the bow does not have much bite in the water. You have to really trim down and back off the rpms to turn the boat. He has called the company that manufatures the boat but they will only fix warranty work. He has tried a couple of boat repair shops and nobody wants to touch aluminum. Does anybody know of a place that can fix it?
