In light of the recent rains.

We've been getting quite a bit of rain lately, which in my opinion right now is a good thing...At any rate I was wondering how many of you travel down the road with the cover on or off your boat. Does the weather make a difference to you either way as to whether you pull your boat with the cover on or the cover off?

I prefer running with the cover off if at all possible. But if it is raining I will run with the cover on to keep the tire spray out of the inside of the boat. I have a d/c and can see the tire spray hit right across the top of the sides and run up both windsheilds. And mudflaps on a SUV just don't look real good.

I always thought that running with the cover off got you better gas mileage, but I had a guy tell me the other day that running with the cover on and properly fitted, gets you better gas mileage. I don't know if that is correct but I have always run with the cover off in good weather, and with the cover on in bad.

I know that wet carpet weighs a heck of a lot more than dry carpet! :)

Unless I am only going to be on the road about ten minutes, I always cover my boat. I feel that it keeps all of the dust, dirt and road debris out of my boat.
