    Rising Water?

Where do the fish go when the water rises or do they stay put? With all this rain the lakes are rising fast.

    RE: Rising Water?

you know this is a very interesting question that I have been looking for the answer to for some while. Obviously in the fall and spring fish move with the fall and rise of water a lot but in the summer and winter when these fish set up shop in 20-30 ft of water and a big rain comes do the fish stay in what is now more like 40 ft or do they try to remain around the same depth and just change structure. The only reason I would be inclined to think they might move is the fact that generally when a lake comes up a bunch it generally muddies. I would think that if no light is penetrating to the depth the fish were at before the rise then they would have to move. Does anyone have any experience with this, feel free to post your opinions.

The fish go to the opposite end of the lake where I am fishing. I very seldom have a good day when the water is rising fast. I myself would like to know answer. If there is one

If water is cooler than the lake and the temp is in the 80's then look for water coming into the lake. More Oxygen and bait coming in.. Just a guess since it only works for me in the winter when the water is warmer..
