Creek Report,,Handmade Cranks...

Got up this morning about 7:30am. Got the paper and piddled around a little. Then called Andrew to see if he'd like to do a wade. He did...LOL!!!!

The place we fishd was a bit upstream from where we fihed 2 wks ago. APB had since then been working on a small crankbait series of his own. Some of you have seen the pic's but for those that didn't here were the 2 baits that accounted for 42 or our 51 fish

This flow had had a good blast of water and we caught it on the drop. We had stained color when we entered, but by the time we got a little over halfway it cleared up. The fish were biting pretty good. We did'nt catch and monsters, but did have a few unseen.
Here's a couple of pic's of APB>>>

Notice the size of the crankbait....

And here's one more picture. To bad the sun blocks this pic. This baitfish was pretty similar to the color of Apb's bait.

It was awesome to fish with APB. His baits are awesome. It pretty cool to fish woth someone one weekend, and then in a couple of weeks have them bring thier own handmades out....

Nothing like starting the day with a double shot of cranks on the rocks (lol!). The cranks are around 2 inches in case anyone was interested. Billy hadn't done his hair and makeup like I had that morning, so I wasn't allowed to take any shots of him :) Definitely need to do that wade again!

Nice job on those fish. I use to walk the creeks years ago and loved it. The stinging nettle was painful but it was the price we paid. Any big redeyes?

LAST EDITED ON Jul-17-06 AT 07:31PM (EST)[p]DJD,

Yeah we stuck a few Redeyes here and there. Two weeks ago we waded about 12 miles further downstream. Andrew caught a chugger of a Redeye on one of his Big TopWaters. We caught several small fish that day.
This day was different. The water was stained and on the drop. The fact being that much further upstream/vs/the size of the majority caught was pretty dang good. We saw our share of fry. Several good little pods.

You may need to revisit that creek.

Nice looking crankbaits Andrew, kind of a hybrid between an AC Shiner and a YoZuri pin minnow. I like those eyes you are putting in them. Man I've got to make time to get up there with you boys, dang work. Hey if you get to hot do ya'll ever just lay down in that cool water? I wish I was laying in the creek today, whooowee it's hot. Billy when I come up do I need waders or is long pants, and an old pair of tennis shoes gonna get-r-done? Tightlines fellows keep the pics coming I enjoy them, makes me forget about work for awhile.

Jeans and tennis shoes is what I wear. Early spring and fall is wader time. Oh, and winter for the crazy folks that like the frozen creek atmosphere.

That crank has done well for me. Have a few larger sizes that I throw for Hybrids and Stripers. Like seem to like them too :) Eyes are the 3d eyes from WTP available from Janns, Stamina, etc. If you have enough time on a weekend, we'll show you how to make them as well as fish them.
