How about the Second weekend in June. Anyone know of any reason not to have it that weekend?
Also how many of you will fish it this time?

Jim,
I would love to try to fish this next year if I can.
In one of the threads that disappeared, I had asked MarkW if he may want to fish with me. I don't know the river at all, or the area for that matter, so I would definately need a partner, and we could easily enter one of those 50/50 deals like this year's winners.

Any talk of bringing it further down the river?
Is the Mehldahl pool near Maysville ?Is it Augusta?I dont know that much about the Ohio .
Meldahl Dam is about 20 miles up river from covington, maybe a little more.

Sorry, we probably won't bring it further down. Logisitally if it gets more than 350 miles long, we would have trouble getting paperwork back to central office in a timely fashion.
yes maysville and augusta are in the meldahl pool. june is a great time to hit the river. looking forward to it. would of fished it this year but i didnt know about it til it was added to the homepage. already planned vacation that weekend at dale. tight lines!!
I understand that the logistics are a major pain. I do believe you are losing a lot of potential anglers by not going at least down to Evansville/Henderson. While Owensboro is pretty close IMO you'll gain from that area being included. Also could pick up some more help in Sponsorship. While I may fish it next year, I would be more inclined if I could get more practice time closer to home on the river.
Danny,
I did not see your post---sorry. I fished this event this year by myself and more then likely will do so next year. I discussed fishing it with my regular River partner, the one I fish Plapps with, but we both decided do go at this tournament in a different approcach, style etc. etc.
He was going for the win---I was hoping to win some hourly prizes and with a chance to get the big one! Then I had another friend entertain the idea of doing it as a team of 3 but fish out of different boats in different areas of the river. But, again all 3 of us had different ideas and it just wasn't going to work.
So, with this much on the line, we all figured to just go for it ourselves and it worked out just fine. Didn't win, but I had fun.
So, Danny, I can take you on some pre-fishing trips or I can help you with some info, but if I do decide to fish with anybody, it would be my regular river fishing partner.
Hope that makes sense. I do appreciate the offer to even ask me for help. That by itself is a compliment and I appreciate it.
Count me in next year. Just too short of notice this year to attend. This thing will get BIG with the right advertising and marketing early on. Just think, one cast, $50,000. The only thing I would have a question about is with the different sites to put in, and check ins, is there a livewell check? Are the money winners subjected to a madnatory polygraph? That is the only thing that might hold me back, if it would be easy for someone to cheat. But other than that, sounds like the avg. Joe has a shot at some good money! 50 g's would fill up the tank a few times..
The boundary goes down to Henderson/Evansville--the bridge to be exact. The weigh-in site is Owensboro.
