Has anyone fished Laurel Lately?

Just wondering if anyone has been catching any bass on laurel recently. What is a good color right now? I fished a tournament last tuesday and had 2 smallies that weighed 6.9 lbs, but didnt place in the top 3.

I was up there also tuesday night caught fish before dark nothing afterward. All largemouth and spots.If you had two smallies then you done well and this time of the year that will get you money most of the time if you fished the same tournament as me. If your just fishing and want to catch fish you might want to try a little later at night from around 2:00 A.M. till daybreak I hear that the smallies are really coming on then. The traffic will slow down once school starts back and fish will get going again. Dark colored jigs is what I have been throwing. Green pumpkin,black, brown etc. See you around.

This was the first flatwoods tourney i have fished this year. I have been fishing woodscreek tourneys for about 15 strait weeks now and, i am ready for somthin new. yea, both were caught on jigs on submurged humps and timber, after dark.

You will like the flatwoods tourny, real good group of guys. Fishing will pick up in about a month or so once we get into the fall season. The key is finding those smallies' a couple of those guys have them down pat and usually turn on right about now.Don't know how they do it but they always do, years of experience I guess. Should see some bigger stringers once the lake settles down a bit. Good luck to ya.

I already like it. Going to be there this tuesday as well. What about the Tourney on Thursday? Is it the same as tuesdays?

Don't know much about the Thursday but I believe there is one on Saturday that runs a little later. This Saturday for sure from 8 Till 3.I believe that is the time on it. There is a flyer up at rex and daves in Corbin.

Awesome. If nothing goes wrong i will definetly be there sat. Ill be there tomarrow night also. Fish out of a 94' Black and Blue nitro. I fished Quaker branch friday night, Mostly spruce and hightop area all the way up to the bridge the last night. Caught more keepers In the rocks in quaker and in timber about 20 feet down.

Unfortunately I won't make it tonight due to a changed work schedule but my partner will (red and black norris craft). Hopefully will be back next week if I can get everything lined out. Fishing last night was pretty tough. I got 4 bites, caught 3 fish. a 17' 3/4 smallie, a 16' smallie and a 17 inch largemouth. I had a good keeper smallmouth spit the hook at the boat too. My partner caught, 3 fish also but no keepers. We ended up leaving at 11:30, so i dont know how much weight won. If you know please tell me. Anyway, the flyer is up at dave and rexx, you could probably call them to get more info on the exact time.
