Any good reports from Cumberland???????

i have heard a bunch of bad reports from cumberland lately and it is kiling me. I have been wanting to get the boat out and i just have not been able to make the trip with all the bad news. My buddy has backed out on me the last 2 weekends and i have though about going alone but i have not heard anything good about the fishing lately. Actually i striper fish most of the time or fish for smallies but it just seems the fish have not bit well since the fall and it seems like this is the slowest year for the fishing in the fall that i have seen. i know last time i was out on the lake was around thanksgiving but the places i caught the heck out of them last year were almost dry or they were dry. i would just like to hear something positive about the fishing on cumberland. just a little to get the blood flowing so i can make myself get down there. Thanks for any comments in advance. OH and by the way i am not shy i will fish for bass too. hell i will fish for just about anything right now. Thanks again

The last 2 weekends were fairly good for smallmouth. 2 weeks ago we boated four smalleys that weighed about 15 and lost 1 that would have been between 4-5lbs. Last thursday we went and caught about 25-30 fish with the best was a 5 1/2lb smalley. Then it took 5 smalleys (19lbs 5oz) saturday to win the tourny. They seem to have been biting a jig, silver buddy, and F-N-F. They seem to be everywhere though. We have caught some on walls and some on sloping banks, extremely hard to find a pattern right now. Hope this helps.

What tourney did you fish Saturday?

thanks that is a little more like it. i know that the stripers are not doing anything but i love the smallies too. I think i may try to go do a little float-n-fly fishing there this weekend or next. I don't want to know any specifics but have you been fishing more towards the dam or back up towards somerset. i usually stay in somerset and fish around conley and also right around burnside. i am not afraid to drive down the other end though if that is what it takes. Thanks

we fished the open out of conley.
we've been fishing some in fishing creek and some around the conley-fall creek area too.

Not trying to call you out jigman but I know who won that tourney it was Devere/Hembree....right??? 4 smallies and a LM that totaled 19 and some change!

John and Jarrod did win it.
I was standing 2 feet away watching Don bump and weigh them.
They were either all 5 smalleys or one of them was a mean mouth.
Don't remember who it was that weighed in that big mean mouth.
But I do remember that John and Jarrod did not have any large mouth in their bag.
