Just looking at the results from the Elite series on Amistad and saw they had 39 limits over 20lbs. I scrolled down to the bottom and who did I see but the Bachelor himself! Byron Velvick! What a waste of $55,000 for a sponsor to pay to let this guy fish. I get so tired of hearing this guy holler.....Westside...... every Saturday morning. How's that westside doing now????
Does anyone get as annoyed at this guy as me?

Forget about Ike, atleast he can catch fish.

Don't like him at all. But be prepared for since Luke Claussen won the classic you can bet WEST SIIIIIDE will be mentioned more and more since Luke is a West Sider. Byron loves to represent but what has he ever won. I thought he was some male model that ESPN put on a fishing show, which ESPN would do since they have messed everything else up. I never knew who he was until he actully said he fished some tournaments. I did see his new boat being wrapped last weekend and was jealous as hell. Proves that talking the talk is worth more than walking the walk at times.

I beleive he holds the record for BASS 3 day weight. Some lake in California, maybe Clear Lake and I think it was 83#. So I guess he can fish.

That record went by the wayside at the Classic. The guy is as goofy as Ike is crazy........IMO :)

I don't think he is that bad at all. The "westside" thing is old, but he is not that bad to listen to. It's not like the guy can't fish. He has not done much since his "bachelor" fame, but he has some impressive wins to his credit, and set an all-time record for total weight in a 3 day B.A.S.S. event with over 80 pounds. He makes a living in the fishing industry, apparently has a great boat, a super-hot fiancee, and is fishing the Bassmasters Elite tour. I guess some people might find it annoying that he is living their dream life.

He just a pretty boy because he was the bachlor and his one and only big weight he ever had and ever will. Other wise he wouldnt be a ESPN commentator, he would be fishing the classic.

No his record didnt get broke at the classic,the classic weight for three days was 56-02 not even close to 83-5(Clear lake)

As I was reading this thread, I was thinking the exact same thing. I don't like him, but at least give him the credit he is due.

Also I don't really expect him to do well on the tour. He has a lot of distractions in his life right now, especially doing BassCenter. I really doubt he gets to really prepare to for the tournaments.

If I hear "Westside" one more time... sheesh. I don't care for Skeet Reese either, because of his views of us "idiotic" fans, but Byron pimps him too.

I doubt ESPN will let Byron talk a lot about Luke. ESPN was about to make an exception to let Luke fish the Elite tour and give him his spot in next year's classic, after Luke inquired about it, but then ol' Luke turned them down. He said his sponsors did not line up well with ESPN, and felt he needed to show loyalty. I agree, but since ESPN showed they would make the exception for him, then he basically stood them up.

Should be a really fun year in pro fishing this year. I'm excited to see all the posturing.

I agree that the WS stuff is out of control, however, give the devil his due. His wife is smoking hot and he is a professional fisherman doing what he loves most in life. He also has a successful TV show on ESPN, like to watch him or not, he's a living a life most people would kill for, jealous?
