Caught a few crappie out of Barren today and one black crappie was a black nose crappie. These are fairly common in Dale(I'm not sure about Lake Cumberland). I seen this strain of black crappie for the first time this fall at Dale, but I have fished Barren for years for crappie and never picked one of these up. Has anyone ever caught any of these in Barren? I know there not common in Barren, or have not been for me, but I am sure its not the first time a stray from other waters has jumped the fence. Caught crappie about 4-5ft. deep on the old float and fly out of the river channel.
