Boat Rentals

LAST EDITED ON Mar-22-06 AT 03:31PM (EST)[p]Does anyone know of good places to rent a boat for a day of fishing near Louisville? I've looked at Guist Creek Lake, Taylorsville, and Lake Jerico - they all rent boats, but there's very little info online (like costs, type of boat, does it have oars or motor or trolling motor, gas included, etc.). Is it worth it? I don't need anything fancy of course, just somethin' to fish from and get around on. Anyone out there with info - thanks ahead of time, greatly appreciated!

LAST EDITED ON Mar-22-06 AT 05:02PM (EST)[p] I suggest you try Beaver Lake, they rent Jon boats with trolling motors and or outboards, and even have a bass boat for rent (at least they did last time I was there). It is a nice little lake just east of Taylorsville Lake, and it holds some nice bass. Guist gets alot of pressure and they rent Jons with outboard only. Lat Time i went to Beaver lake I think I paid $40-$50 to rent a boat for the whole day, but that has been a couple of years.

If ya go, let us know how ya did, I'v been wanting to get back there for some time now

If you are still looking for some places to fish from the bank, let me know and maybe we can get togather and I can show you some pretty good spots.

Keep on chuckin'

You can get the facts on beaver lake at www.fairwindsatbeaverlake.com . They rent john boats with or without motors, and have a pontoon to rent.
We're getting a few now but need some warmer weather to get them fired up right. Last year was a good one on bass , bluegill, shellcrackers, and some pretty good crappie.

RE: Boat Rentals

I just checked out Nolin the other day for a friend. Wax marina rents fishing pontoons, Moutadier and Ponderosa both rent jon boats with outboards. Most places fill the gas tank when you leave, then you pay for what you use.
