Greenbriar is in Mt Sterling across the bypass from town .I haven't been over there in a few years and I did fish it intermittently for a few years , but the last time I was there , it was trolling motors only .It's a good looking small lake with tons of cover .I'd say it's close to 200 acres .Deeper banks on the left side going up the lake .The right side has more coves , hence, structure like points .Back then it was no challenge to catch as many bass as you could catch but it was hard to get a keeper .I have heard of nice bass being caught but my personal best topped out at about 3 lbs .Apparently there are a miniscule amount of remnant smallmouth which I figured were residents of the original creek .I always thought it would be a great place for smallmouth but it was just my opinion .I do know of 2 smallmouth , each in the 5 lb range having been caught but the bluegill population got most of the attention .As I stated , it's been a few years since I fished there but it would be a great place to take kids or try out new lures .The ramp was only suited to one vehicle at a time but it was in good shape , but steep .Make sure your emergency brake works .haha Hope this helps .
I don't think it opens until the middle of May. I may be wrong but I don't think it is. May want to call and check it.
lake is open now trolling motor only they had tournament ther two weeks ago it toke 3 fish 16lb to win
Wow , things have really picked up since I was there a few years ago but I always thought it had potential. When I used to fish there , they had just raised the dam and while it was easy to catch a bunch of small fish , I felt that it would take a few years for things to stabilize and for fish to become acclamated to the new cover and structure .Maybe I just couldn't catch 'em.haha
Where exactly is this lake?Is it a pay-lake?
I see by this that I was wrong on the acreage.......maybe........

Went there on 8-20-13 threw jigs, top water, cranks, spinners and what ever else I thought would work. I caught one small large mouth and one small smallmouth. I fished both sides of the lake all different depths. Maybe I wasnt on my game IDK. Wish the spoonies would bit something there are plenty of those big boys in there. It cost 3 dollars a person now. Its open tuesday-saturday from 7 am to 9 pm. Can anyone give me any tips on what they bit, and where to fish, I would like to go back since it is only 12 miles from my house.
Went back to greenbrier on 8-27-13 got on the water around 7:30 am. Fish the left hand side going up the lake and didnt do very good. Went about 3/4 up the lake and fish the left hand side coming down. Thats when we started catching a few smaller fish around 10 inches on spinners. Once we got into the stumps I started throwing a jig and started catching 15-16 in bass. I caught 6 bass 3 around 12 and 13 inches and 3 around 15 and 16 inches. My buddy caught 6 all under 12 inches on a spinner.
