Hey thanks for all the info.

I hate to bring this up again. I wrote it down but lost it. Could anybody tell me the areas on KY lake that have grass, and possibly what type? ex; Hydrilla, Mustard grass... It would be greatly appreciated!
Hey thanks for all the info.
Scruffage,
No need to be sarcastic. As you posted originally, we've been through this before, actually several times.
An idea might be to do a search of all the messages using the search function on this site. if you know you posted in that thread, then simply look for all posts that were originated by you.
I know when I have needed past information, this function has been a big help.
Good luck,
Danny
Last season there was grass beds from Sugar Bay south on the LBL side and Lebetter south on the west side. Niad and coontail.
If you plan on coming down here to find it now your too early.
Thanks, I didnt know you could search. I didn't post before so can i still search? So when does the grass start growing? How about the yellow flowers are they also located in the same areas? Forgive me for being impatient.
Expext the grass to be up and going good by late May. The flowers are located on both lakes in shallow pockets in virtually every bay. As far as your impatience....I figured you were talking to yourself since no one was answering your question.
It sounded like you did not really know how to do a search, so I did one.
I think this is the thread you were referring to:
http://www.fishin.com/cgi-bin2/dcfor...16&archive=yes
The way I found it was that I went to the search function, it is a radio button at the top of the page when you come to the discussion board. I searched for the following:
Grass AND Barkley OR Kentucky
I searched the KY discussion board, and included the archives, which was good since the thread has already been archived.
I hope this helps.
Danny
Prior to this recent rain and raised level of kentucky lake some areas already had topped grass, very shallow, other areas had it about 1 ft off the bottom in say 2 ft of water, lilly pads are up as well as cattails ,reeds and rushes all of these lesser veggies are just as important.Hydrilla and coonttail normaly starts just north Paris Landing on the islands on the main lake, intermingled near the 79 bridge with pondweed, thats not up till later.Big sandy has coontail in bays about 1 ft off the bottom, small cuts have some topped down near bass bay,new johnsonville and birdsong are even farther along, and lilly pads are topped and flowering.
And yes caught my first frog fish march 29th,55 f water on pads that had just topped, basiclly one has to go to tennesee to find much grass, and the farther south one goes the more they find.
It will be a wait and see thing now since the lake is 8 ft over pool, and what damage that has caused to it.http://kylaketn.webs.com/apps/photos...otoid=79480267

Actually we had grass started back all the way to the dam in many creeks and bays this spring but I expect the dirty flood waters will do the grass in this season again.
There was some last year in the back end of big bear and lil bear that topped in late aug,but about a 100x 60 patch in each,im sure some years its more spread than others.
Main lake down here in tn last year twas late getting up due to the high water.
Guess is its a wait-n-see.
Ive only lived here going on 4 summers ,have always found grass underneath in ky,just not a lot of topped grass-could be me and where im looking or just bad years for it up there,or a combination of all.
You have an excellent fishery all in itself,I just prefer floating frogs to a sammy.
And where I fish treble hooks arnt an option. But a personal preference not something everyone wishes to do.
