    Green River conditions

Anyone been to GRL lately? How is the lake level, debris, water temps and bass bite. I'm heading there this weekend. Any info would be appreciated.

    RE: Green River conditions

Went today. Put in at Holmes Bend and headed toward Butler Creek. Water was a little murky, but not bad - its cleared a whole lot from last week. Not much trash at all. Can't say much about the Bass, but the Crappie are biting really well. We caught 45 keepers today with some real slabs in the bunch. Good luck!!

Have had a lot of crappie fishermen in today saying the crappie are hitting good (several 12-14" fish), most are reporting finding fish from 10-15 feet deep, bass are starting to bed a little, been some good ones caught in the past several weeks.
    Good luck.

green is a hard lake to figure out for some people if you drift along the bluff walls with minnows you should have some good luck that is what i usually do when i go there you will end up with all different fish in the well most of the time i stay down near the state park

    RE: Green River conditions

Look for wood - sunken logs, branches etc. Fish with everything you need - minnows and jigs( a variety of colors and sizes) . I have found some days when the fish wouldn't touch a jig and some when they wouldn't partake of minnows very readily. The other day the minnows quit producing around mid-morning so we tied on 1/16 oz charteuse twister tails and began to pick up fish again. Roadrunners produce real well at GRL as well although the twister tails with regular ball jigs are cheaper if they break off. You really have to go out and get as much experience as you can. Depth is sometimes critical just a couple feet sometimes makes a big difference. Fishing with different people has taught me a lot over the years. Everyone has little techniques that can make all the difference in the world on slow days. Hope that helps a little. Lots of luck and hope you get a limit soon!
