Well, this past weekend I headed down to the cabin for family Easter get together. Didn't know I was going to do any fishing so didn't bring tackle or boat...well get down there and I had to wet a line. Fortunately Dad has his limited supply of tackle there that I borrowed for a few hours on Sat. evening and Sun. morning.
So I get down there prime time Sat. evening. Remember I had a select FEW baits(unprepared to fish). Although I was not planning on fishing, I had one of the best times this year of fishing just walking the bank. The fish are on!!!!
In about a 200 yard stretch a bank, I caught about 20 fish, 4 keepers that would have went around the 12lb mark, anchored by a 4lber and 3.5lber. Sometimes competitive fishing takes away from the good ole days of just fishing, walking the bank, and taking in the scenery. The fish are definately looking up, top water was slow, but had several on floating worms, flukes, and senkos. They have pulled up, caught all my fish in water no deeper then 3' of water. I say water temp range from 65-69(no temp. gauge though). Even did a little wading to retrieve some baits!(one neg. not having a boat) But for this fundraiser our team has going on this Sat., it looks like there will be some big weights brought in. Good luck to anyone fishing it!
