Dale hollow question?

I know that the lake has a good smallmouth and walleye fishery, My question is, how does the resident muskie population effect the lake dynamics as the other species seem to do fine? Could or would they do better if they were not there?

I don't think there are enough muskie to make much of a dent. Smallmouth, crappie, and baitfish are abundant. I think stripers would be a differnt story. They seem to thrive in highland lakes in greater numbers. I have fished for years and have yet to see one in Dale but often catch them by accident in Green River Lake.

I think there are a lot of muskies in the lake that do very well in deeper water and the big grass beds so we do not "see" them. i think the "system" is in balance very well at Dale Hollow between predator (of all type) and prey - more likely due to less fishing pressure than other lakes that are discussed on this board regularly.
