Crappie spawn KY and Barkley

I've read the reports for KY and Barkley and they say the spawn has pretty much ended. I fished Barkley this past weekend and 90% of the 49 that we caught were busting with eggs. Any suggestions on why if the spawn is over?

My best guess is that when you read the spawn is almost over, the guys are referring to the majority of the fish. But, all fish don't spawn at the same time, and with the new moon coming tomorrow, you have it setting up perfectly for another spawn wave, so you may have just gotten into a secondary or even later group of fish looking to spawn.

Either way, sounds like you had a great day fishing. Hope you didn't keep all those future mommas.... want to make sure you let a few thousand go for the future... OK, OK, I know one female may lay a thousand eggs, but that many won't survive.

I did let a few of those 10" go. But it's hard to put back those white filets.
