Gasoline Story / LOWEST PRICE IN KY

Well I was making one of those Fishin.com Sales trips, and fishing information acquisition trips and other stuff trips. I filled up in Southern Indiana for $2.86 per gallon. $43.00 to fill up the ole van.
I got to mid state and found gasoline at the OLD Davis Brothers Truck stop that is now a PILOT, and it was $2.79.
Going through Glasgow I saw $2.77 at a station just outside of town and when I made my trip back through I stopped there and filled up. DUMB... I got to Ranger Bob's to meet Jesse for breakfast and WOW.. $2.74 per gallon. Jesse tells me that Ranger Bob has on average the lowest price in the region. You go Ranger Bob.. right on the lake too.
So while I normally do not promote individual businesses, I will promote this LOWEST PRICE for gasoline in the state business.. cause we can all use cheap gasoline.

Hey Jim,

Don't kick yourself too hard for blowing an extra 3¢ per gallon. Remember, even if you bought 33 gallons, you would have only saved 99¢!!!

I have to do this to keep from knocking myself around when I find gas a few cents cheaper than where I just filled up.

Danny to a point I agree, But believe me if the guy selling gas for only .03¢ cheaper sells twice as much....Guess what, The guy across the street is going to lower his prices by at least .03¢. It adds up.

No offense intended BB, but we weren't talking about stations across the street from one another. Most were mile apart in fact.

You are right though, across the street from each other it is worth the buck to drive across the street, not sure it is worth it to drive several miles to save a dollar.

Ranger Bobs is the lowest around I always pass him on the way to barren. Good eats and cheaper gas... Yep he has my business..
He is also not even close to anyone else so it isn't like he is trying to compete with a cross the street stuff but.... he is across the street from where they are putting in the new ramp

Pretty freakin' sad that we are bragging about $2.70/ gallon gas. It's 12 cents/gallon in Saudia Arabia and every one of the 911 terrorists were from there. Qatar just gave the Hammas Palestinian govt (all known for their pro-terrorist views) 50 million $$. And we are blowing up Iraq with million dollar bombs. Hard to LOL on that note!

Well Jim has the right idea. Buy from the guys that sell at the lowest cost. While you may only save 99 cents today our comsumer purchasing power can help to drive the prices down. So that next week we may be able to save $2.00 and then $10 the next month.

It's the only way we have of fighing higher gasoline prices.

High gasoline prices not only effects our travel expenses but everything else we buy. My cost for a dozen minnows when up this year by 25 cents a dozen. Now if you buy 4 dozen that's another dollar in expenses.

I am going to shop around myself if I can find cheaper gas that's not too far away.

I think a good idea for any fishing forum these days is to have a spot somewhere on the forums where people can check out gasoline prices and report what they find. That way we can expose those that charge more for fuel and patronize only those that sell gas for less.

Our local news paper and local media also do this in my area. Every bit we do helps. Anyway it can't hurt.

The alternative is to roll over and not do anything and watch the prices go up up up. They may still go up up up but at least I will have known that I tried to do something to stop the price increases
