We had a total of 8 boats in the qualifier. Like anyday on Taylorsville it was tough. We had two boats zero on both sides, we had 4 boaters weigh in fish, and 3 students weigh in fish.
My boater and myself caught ALOT of fish 25-30 just two keepers though. The fish were in 3-6 ' of water. Lake is murky, but clears up in some places. We saw 4-6 good fish cruising (not locked on beds yet but almost there). The shad were spawning right up on the bank. Nonetheless, I was able to put a solid keeper in the boat. I know Scott also caught alot of fish, 20-30, on soft plastics. The fish were definately biting, just hard to find those bigger fish.

I want to thank everyone for helping us out, especially the boaters. Also I would like to thank all of our sponsors and anyone who put in extra time to make this a successful tournament. This was our second qualifier, we have one more on 6/10 at Barren. These qualifying tournaments decide who we send to the ESPN Smash-Mouth Tournament, televised on ESPN. With one tournament left, we have four guys in the running for this. If anyone is interested in being a boater, contact me. I will give details.

    Eric or Buzzking....

Hey, if you guys ever have one of your qualifiers down on the western end of the lake, I'll certainly volunteer. I don't know many of the mid state lakes, and Taylorsville, well I've never even been there..... so if you ever come west, let me know.

I think it would be fun, and I think it would be great. I'm really glad to see you guys getting this college thing going so well.

    Congratulations on your success.

    RE: Eric or Buzzking....

Some of our members fish the ABA district 32 (KY and Barkley Lake) but we decided those would be too far for most of our members for qualifying events eventhough I would love to fish there for one of our club tournaments. I believe (if any other school will contact me and confirm it) that the Bluegrass Booyah Tournament is going to be on Barren 6/25, so hopefully we can get a good crowd together for the weigh in. But that is as far west we go with the club this year, maybe different next year?

Right now trying to get this instate rivalry tourney up and rolling, and maybe seeing if someone wants to put this thing on(it will be an anuual thing), looking for sponsors who are interested, I'm sure news stations will cover it, they will cover any UL UK rivalry. The CBAA said soemthing about it but I can not get a strait answer from them, it would be a great promotional event for a company, especially a Kentucky based one. The company would do the entire tournament procedure, weigh in, trophies, door prizes etc. and they can set up all banners they want(they would definately be getting some great publicity, plus this thing is going to last forever, just starting it up is the hard part). So if anyone is interested in working with us let me know. And Kyle, get back with me asap, I know finals are going on now but the sooner the better so we can discuss this. Thanks,

Man I am on my co-op so I have no finals! But speed school summer semester starts next monday so not looking forward to that. I tell you what the CBAA does not have their crap together, I am pretty much done with'em, they are very disorganized it seems, or just do not want to work with us. But yeah, give me a holler when your done with the exams. I emailed Michael L. from Murray but no reply yet. You said you knew some eku and wku boys? Goodluck this week, cya

    Eric,

I had a great time on Saturday. Too bad it was the usual Taylorsville bite. The front that moved in with the rain killed us. Hope to be able to help you out in the future.

Hey Nolan, I was glad to meet you but really didn't get to talk much since I had to organize the weigh in stuff. We do appreciate your helping out as a boater, and hope you will be interested in the future. It was pretty nice getting those gift certificates to Ranch House huh? LoL, take the little woman out to eat. That worked out good though. Our next one is at Barren on 6/10 the weekend after BFL, I am actually contemplating whether or not to fish the rest this year, or save up for a couple years to go as a boater? Not sure, but the super tournament is scheduled the weekend after my child is due, and I will not leave a week old baby behind to go fishing. But email me if interested about Barren, thanks again!
