I heard that the boxes have been removed at Settlers Trace for the Self Deposit Launch Fee envelopes. Does anyone know if it is offical that the Dept of Parks has removed the launch fee? I heard that they have removed the boxes at State Parks all over the state. Can anyone confirm that?

I found this information at the Kentucky Parks Dept. Website dated 3/18/2006 from their press clipping archives;
"A bill sponsored by Rep. J.R. Gray, D-Benton, and passed by the House would do away with boat launch fees at state parks. Gray said the fees are supposed to be used for ramp maintenance but they aren’t always collected and little work has occurred at the ramps."
I guess the launch fees are history at the state parks unless the Corps of Engineers wants to charge.
we put in saturday at possum ridge all of the boxes are gone at taylorsville but i dont know about the rest of the state park.
I stopped in the State Park Office at Taylorsville this past Thursday and asked about the missing box. They recieved orders from the state to remove all boxes. There will no longer be a launch fee at Taylorsville. This should apply to all state managed lakes. Seems like there was a different requirment for the Wax Ramp at Nolin.
i was told by the parks dept that if the corp of engineers maintainthe ramp there is a charge,otherwise the state cannot charge.thanks
I think the situation at Wax is that the ramp is maintained by the Corps of Eng. Wax is also not a state park. The launch fee at wax is a Corps of Eng fee. I don't know the situation at Settlers Trace regarding the Corps of Eng.
