great place to grab a meal on Barren River

Went down to the lake today on the way back to town we stopped off at Pedigos country buffet, they Have a prime rib special every Saturday and its all you can eat for 15 bucks and the buffet is full too. These were not paper thin cuts like ponderosa try to pass off he cuts it for you right there just as much as you want and it is great. they are new there it used to be called the colonial house and it was nothing to brag about but these folks have turned it into a real treat so on Saturdays man this is the place to put on the feed bag. The owner said he's open 6 days a week with mondays off. Just so you know I am not associated with these folks I just really enjoyed the food and service and want to steer a little business to them, I think I have found my new favorite place to eat. good luck on the lake this year, and be safe.

    Got any Barren Bass reports??

Thinking about heading down there Monday and was wondering if anyone had any recent bass reports on Barren. Just a report, I'm not asking for any honey holes. I hate to drive 2+ hours to get there only to find the bass shut down. I fished Herrington friday night and had 5 keepers (just keepers) took 9+pounds to win and 8+ to money, pretty slow for everyone on the bigger fish.
    Thanks in advance,

RE: Got any Barren Bass reports??

I talked to Jesse last night and he is catching some nice 18 inch class fish. All of them had wear on their tales.. like they were building nests. I am guessing the next full moon is the spawning moon for bass this year for the majority of fish in the state lakes, unless things get dicey with the temps. Fish seem to be ready but these night temps of 40 to 50 are really slowing them down and making them think twice.

Where abouts is Pedigo's located - I've never heard of it.

As far as a report goes, I was on the water for about 4 hours on Saturday. Pitched a baby brush hog all morning and caught 6 total. 2 were short and the others were in the 2-3 1/2 lb range. They were all in shallow pockets around stumps.

I was up in hicks hollow and saw a few bass bedding. I saw a monster in a little grass bed that was well over 10, but it turned out to be a carp

Fish around wood/boat docks. Worm mostly, and buzzbait early and late. Water temp a little over 70. Hybrid bite midnight to 3AM on the shale banks.

What kind of lures or bait would you use for the hybrid?

I can attest to three. The Mann's Suspending Jerk(8+) in chrome, a chrome 5" Redfin, and a Mann's minus 1(or 1 minus) in Gray Ghost color. I also nabbed one on a buzzbait, but was fishing for bass at the time.

A new barbeque place just opened up a few miles from the parkway along 31E also. A new log cabin building on the right.
